Agreed. For instance, the decision to move all fanfics to forum games, practically killed that segment of the community right there and then. It's like an exile to Siberia, seein' how it's so far from the home page. They should have only moved the interactive ones since they were flooding the forum. Regular fics got no traffic to begin with.

It seems to upset some people. Personally I think that this forum was better place before thumbs up and down were introduced. The whole thing is completely unnecessary. If you agree or disagree with someone you can always say it and give few arguments to support your point of view. That's much more interesting to read than +1 or -1.

And if you must use profane language, do it only after a careful consideration, because also minors read these forums and it shows them bad example*. Any fanfiction thread that involves interactive, choose-your-own, submit your own character, etc. When it somehow became a trend before having all of them being moved, it just showed that the people who started them have no creativity or imagination and were only doing it for attention.

I've said about getting dislikes before. But it's not because it bothers me. It's quite the opposite really, as it's rather amusing (in other words, rather sad). It's a game forum afterall, so it shouldn't be taken seriously.
However, the dislike practise is also present on the Amazon UK Kindle forum. It annoyed me there. I won't really get into details as to why.
Edit: The disliking here though does do one thing and it makes you wonder about many of the members, hence why I mentioned it being amusing. That's really all it achieves. At least for me anyway.

1) When someone says something like "bring on the downvotes!" "I know I am gonna get downvoted for this" "There is a… more dislike troll among us!" These things make me absolutely cringe and make me wanna roll myself up into a ball and fall down 17 flights of stairs (not really :P but you get what I mean). Are dislikes such an important thing and so annoying to soem that they have to take us off the course of a thread just to bring this up? Sure I get it, it sucks to be downvoted for your opinion, but I think that you should keep to yourself and not take others from the topic of a thread just to say that you've been downvoted, we can see it ourselves and it doesn't need to be created into a big thing.

It's true that a lot of interactive fics are half-baked copycats, but I participate a couple that are consistently entertaining. Not to mention, the writing skills of both authors have improved substantially since they began.
The biggest problem with interactive and Create-a-Character stories is that most authors accept characters without any scrutiny. It results in a lot of bland Badasses/Mary Sues who have no personality and/or immersion breaking abilities. They're afraid to be picky about the characters they include and it bites them in the ass later on.
