Good story over choices ?
None of the decisions make a difference in "Amid the Ruins'': Sarah dies either way, Jane leaves either way, Rebecca dies either way and the russians trap you whether you take the bag or not. The coherency goes to shit. I'd expect my decision to make a difference but it doesn't.

I agree. Season 1 did it so much better. Even though the story always ended in the same place it felt like your choices were making big impacts but they don't in this season. Also character relationships, by the end of season 1 Kenny could be your best friend or you could hate each other and in this season we haven't really had a character like that. Don't get me wrong though, im still loving season 2.
Same goes for me, even if I felt disappointed after finishing the fourth episode
The fourth episode was really good in my opinion, I just felt like they wasted some potential killing off characters like that...
I actually thought amid the ruins was the best season 2 episode yet.:/ but I do agree about the decisions not nattering or making a difference. Like MrAppleJuice said season 1 did it better. To be honest the wolf among us did it better too,Some of the choices actually mattered and made a difference.
Yeah, The Walking Dead Season 1 is completely unmatched in story. Even though our choices didn't change the ending, it still greatly changed how the story played out. If you were nice to people, they were nice to you, if not, they were a-holes lol. Even though determinants had clear fates, they still did something that changed the tailoring of the story. As for The Wolf Among Us, non of the determinant characters had to actually die, I'm pretty sure that the villains under The Crooked Man's control all survived.... apart from... well, you know...
