Were Vince and Glenn..?

...Brothers? I've always wondered this. But never posted anything about it.

Because Glenn in season 1 said he was "born and raised" in Macon. And in 400 days you can see Vince running down the streets near the drugstore. So it could be assumed that he lived in Macon as well. He also said that he "helped his little brother."
The wiki says that there is a possible 10 year age gap between them.

And they do certainly look alike. They also have the same noses and hair colour which I suppose doesn't mean anything.

What do you think? Could they have been brothers?

  • I think it's possible. They were both definitely survivors.

  • Yes, because if there's two asians together it must mean their brothers!

In that logic, Mike could be Lee's cousin.

  • Possibly but I doubt it...

  • Both Asian in small town with drug store in Macon, Vince's younger brother in trouble, Glenn in financial and law troubles. It isn't racist to assume that they're brothers

Why do some people on the forums think people of the same ethnicity are going to be related. -__-

  • I do like to think this. Glenn mentions being in very heavy debt to someone before the apocalypse and Vince killing someone to protect his little brother adds up very nicely. Either way I don't think it will really matter with Glenn being dead in the comics and Vince not really a major character and probably dies in Howe's Hardware if he went with Tavia

Nöpe, with that logic, every white man in the world is my brother.

  • I think it's a bit much to just assume they were brothers just because they are both Asian and come from the same moderately sized town. Sure Glenn had trouble with the law that Vince could have been "helping" him with, but the only stuff Glenn did was occasionally steal cars when he couldn't make the rent some months. It hardly seems like something that would escalate into Vince having to kill someone over it. And Glenn lasted a long time in the comics and he had a lot of character development. I feel like he would have mentioned having a brother at some point.

  • I know it wouldn't affect the story whatsoever, but in my book it would be a nice little easter egg.

  • No, please not again this. There were plenty of threads about it. It's not like every asian guys in TWD gotta be related. However, I was pretty convinced the girl who shot Omid was Rebecca's daughter... I think it's a lot of fun to make theories like that but we still have no proof.

  • Brothers from a different mother!

I remember an older thread discussing this idea before and a few people started implying that the OP was racist, as if "all Asian people look alike!" was the thread starter's rationale behind this thought.

But it's not some thinly-veiled racism by saying Glenn and Vince look alike; they look alike because Vince's model is a rehash of Glenn's, resulting in them both sharing a familiar facial structure. When you factor in their similar appearance, them both being based in the same area, Glenn's financial woes and criminal past, and Vince resorting to murder in order to help out his troubled younger brother, it's not so ridiculous of a leap to suggest they're related.

It's unlikely, but not impossible. Besides, it kinda ties nicely together without too many plot holes that might otherwise contradict the theory (that I know of).

(side note: I haven't actually read the comics so any knowledge of Glenn has been gleaned from the wiki, so I might be wrong about his backstory)

  • Personally, I've read up to Issue 100 of the comics, and I think Glenn would have mentioned that he had a brother if he did.

  • You're totally right! GOD I NEVER THOUGHT OF IT THAT WAY!

He said that he can't stand his parents, but after the apocalypse hit he'd do anything to speak to them again.

  • He did mention that after dropping out of college and started stealing cars for money he became really distant to his parents

  • Yeah, and Senor Chang (Community) is their father.

  • Bruce Lee is Glenn's uncle.

Yeah, and Senor Chang (Community) is their father.

  • Well it's not just that thou, they really do have the same noses. And remember if you ask Glenn about what he was doing before the outbreak or something in the pharmacy on episode one, he's really hesitant about explaining it...

  • EXACTLY! I hate when people say it's racist just to get some likes. God it annoys the heck out of me. There is actual proof besides the race thing!

  • Lol him getting killed wasn't really his fault.

  • ;(
