People who say TWD can't work without Clem should look at 400 Days!
I mean I really like Clem just recently replayed Season 1 and can see why many people want to keep playing as her
Seeing as Season 2 wasn't as good as Season 1 I'm even down for Clem in Season 3 so she gets a proper send off
but thats about it
If they make more TWD Seasons there should be new protagonists and hell anyone who says shit like without Clem there is no
The walking dead should look at the 400 Days Dlc
Even though it was pretty short for like 5 protagonists many of them were interesting ( especially Vince and Wyatt )
and some of them even deserved their own seasons I think
it would bring a fresh perspective into the franchise anyone agree with me here?

400 days was a short spin off that was setting up Season 2, and we knew that Clem wasn't going to be killed off screen and would be alive for Season 2, I'm not sure that's the best example.
NoClemNoBuy shouldn't be taken seriously. It's showing how protective the fanbase is of Clementine. If Clem dies, welp she dies. Everyone would be heartbroken if it happened but it doesn't mean they wouldn't buy more TWDG. I don't know why there are so many threads about this.
I'm not sure you understood me I mean its a good example that there are more interesting stories in the TWD world
apart from Clem
I think after Season 2 Clementine's story should be put to rest. Its getting dangerously close to getting stale like the comics are getting and I think there are a lot more stories out there to be told rather than focusing on the same little girl forever. Maybe its just how underwhelming Season 2 has been thus far though.

I'm most certainly not on board with the people saying that without Clem, there is no Walking Dead, no. But I do believe sticking with Clem as the protagonist would be the best move right now, mainly because we would feel a sense of continuity that way. I would find starting the whole process again with a new protagonist to be quite tiresome. Have I enjoyed 400 days? Yes, I enjoyed it quite a lot and there is no doubt they can certainly do another good story with a new protagonist, but we would also know what to expect to a certain extent(there aren't many things you can do in the apocalyptic genre), and that's one of the main reasons I don't really want a new protagonist.
Due to the fact a lot of players are already emotionally invested in Clem(including me), even if we did expect something to happen we will look at it in a different way or simply ignore it. At least that's how I feel about this.
Uh, no? The first game was about a group of survivors, where you played as a man named Lee. In the second season, the game is about a group of survivors where you play as a girl named Clementine. I don't understand why that concept is still so hard for rabid clem fans to grasp
I know that, and yes there are more interesting stories in the TWD world, but 400 days was a combination of other people's stories, not ONE person's story. 400 days is an okay example, just not the best one.
Frankly, I didn't like the DLC that much. I was actually somewhat bored playing as all these characters I seriously did not give a shit about. (But I know that's probably just me based on all the outraged posts I've seen on how little the 400 days characters were used in s2e3.) I don't even want them to make another DLC with a new character(s), and if they made a whole season like that, I would try it, but I probably wouldn't be able to fend off boredom and keep playing for long.
I want s3 to take place in the eyes of someone new as the apocalypse is starting. I really enjoyed the first 2 episodes of s1 and the first season of TWD show because it shows where everyone is as the whole thing starts. Just my idea, but I won't care either way. I'm just happy they are making more![:) :)](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I don't see the problem with playing a different character who happens to meet Clem at some point
Maybe two years after season two so it alligns with the comics. Her personality will be different depending on how we played season two.
She doesn't necessarily have to be the focus.
I think Telltale have pretty good storyline going for Clem. We get to see her grow up as a child in a ZA in S1 and S2. And i assume she won't die in S2EP5, so we can continue her story as a teenager and maybe an adult in S4?
What i wanna say is... TWD can work without Clem but they got a lot going for her. Also there would be a major backlash from the fans and the internet would implode with her death.
I definitely agree with you about all you said. Clem's story is done, there is nothing else to be told about her anymore. I'd rather play as a new protagonist with a complete new and fresh story than playing as Clem again. This season was really childish, hopefully the next season will be more serious.
Seeing how season 2 has been going so far I would hate to see how TT would actually handle a new character, plus a new story. Personally I can't see any reason to stay tuned into this series besides Clem. If Clem is gone I'm not going to buy it. Her development has been the most enjoyable compared to anything else that has happened. Season 2 has been pretty much awful, and trusting season 3 with a new story and character is something I'm not willing to trust.
I've been saying I don't want Clem in season 3. Don't get me wrong she was a good protagonist but I think its time to move on from her.Basically I agree with everything Journey95 said and i want a fresh new perspective from a new character.
Imo Clem should still be in season 3, but like in season 1 she sould be the deuteragonist again and we play as a completely new character who runs into her group and we try to protect her like Lee did
400 days have different stories, yet are slightly touched. It'd be a facepalm if ever they would hang Clementine's story.
Yes, this isn't her story. But why'd she go as long as this far anyway?
No Walking Dead for me without Clem. But I see your point.
This is "Clementine's Story", not "Survivors stories".... -.-
400 days was experimental, some of it worked some didn't, if clem was killed off in season 3 there is no way another 400 days type of game would keep the fan interest.
No, it's not.
Even Telltale said, that this game is Clems story.....
Yes, It is....
It's like Rick in Comic / TV Show....
400 days was boring for me. I played it one time and never again. There was no connection to the characters and so it doesn't matter who was dieing or living. Just my opinion
Who's story it is is a matter of perspective and no different than a chocolate vs vanilla ice cream argument. Look at Batman. You can take his story as the story of Gotham, the Justice League, or his own story. He is part of every one of those stories. In Jurassic Park, each movie followed a group of people dealing with dinosaurs but who was the true star? Some might say the people, others the dinosaurs. In Star Wars, Luke was the central character for the original trilogy but you can also stay the trilogy was a story about the rebels vs the Empire.
Although in this case, I agree with the Clem fans. Telltale is marketing this as Clem's story. It's just like the comic is Rick's story. The central character who the story is based around is the focus, and Clem is the focus in the game (in both season 1 and season 2). If it were based on the group, you'd think we'd be able to freely switch to other characters yet we can't.
Clem don't need a protector anymore.
More like the first season was about a guy named Lee protecting and taking care of a young girl named Clementine. If Clementine dies at the end of season two, then Lee died for nothing.
The only reason Clementine's story is stale and awkward is because Telltale is trying to pass her off as a rough, tough, zombie-killing badass with physical and mental strength that trumps even the strongest adult's, rather than what she really is: a young orphan trying to survive in a dangerous world where everything is set against her.
"The Walking Dead: Season Two continues the story of Clementine, a young girl orphaned by the undead apocalypse."
^ Straight from the Steam store page.
I don't want to suffer through another Season of Clementine, that is another year of waiting.
Season 3 should still have Clem as the protagonist, that way Clem's story was a trilogy. Season 4 should be a new protagonist and a completly new group
Yes yes yes I already know that. However it was a set up Season 2 with Bonnie and Carver's community with little interesting additions like Carley's corpse. Anyway, I'm alright with the idea of a new Protagonist but I don't think we should change characters, however this is still Clem's story(Telltale and Steam said it themselves, sue me). I'm fine playing other characters in dlc episodes. If you paid attention, Season 2 has been building something up in Clem's story and switching characters just cuz you find it boring would kill all that build up and ruin the story telling. The main character was Clem from the start, she just wasn't playable at first cuz you're trying to raise her to be a capable survivor you play as in Season 2. I still see potential in her story for a couple more seasons to be playable(playing as someone protecting her again in S3 would make her efforts in S2 meaningless). Plus, sad to say this, but Telltale is not going to do this series forever (look at Sam and Max), and they're not going to just change protagonists because people want them to. I believe they have something big in mind for Clem's story, the game series shows vague hints of this.
