Was Nick The One Who Let The First Bite Victim Into The Group?

So we know from coversation in S2E1 that the Cabin Group let in a bite victim into the group and they ended up turning and killing Nicks mom, Nick said it was all his fault and keeps blaming himself for it, although Nick usually blames himself for everything (he blames himself for Reggie failing to escape Carvers Camp) we do know that he has a soft heart and that he is very caring deep down so that could be a reason why he would want to help a bite victim, another piece of evidence is that Pete can be heard telling Nick not to complain about Luke bringing back Clem because he knows Nick would have done the same if he found her, he could be saying this either because he knows Nick is soft or that Nick had done it in the past with the first bite victim, could be nothing but just something to think about

He could've been. You've got to feel bad for him if it was. Imagine how guilty he would feel if he was the one who caused his own mums death
I could never forgive myself if I did that I feel just bad for him
I've just had an epiphany! XD Everything Nick did was to help people but he always ended up making it worse or failing. Like on the bridge when he shot Matthew, he thought Clem and Luke were in trouble so he tried to help them and ended up killing an innocent person. When you find him dead in episode 4, he'd gone out to try and find help for Sarah and Luke even though he'd been shot.
