How Telltale Can Make a Season 2 DLC Impact Season 3 In A Meaningful Way

How many people loved the 400 days DLC? I loved getting a small break from the main storyline and experience the walking death through five new characters. It was a fantastic story, and I loved playing it.

But in the end, I'm disappointed that only Bonnie played a significant role this season. You had all of these developed characters that most players had developed some sort if connection too get reduced to mere cameos due to their determinate status.

I'll cut to the chase: have the plot line for season 3 set out in stone before making the DLC. Have characters set out, and let the DLC tell major events of their backstory, or at the very least add flavor to their characters. This was kind of done with Bonnie in season two, with her immediate recognition of Oxy reminding players of her drug addiction (also, she has the option to not show Mike her arm because she's nervous about old scars, probably track marks.) And all of the characters would wind up playing a major role in the story, or at the very least be more than cameo's.

The DLC can be used to set up back stories for major characters in season three, and give us more information about their back stories. Not all of them have to be part of the group, or even be good people. It would be cool to play as someone who winds up becoming the central antagonist for a season, for example. This way, you'd get a better understanding of their actions and motivation, and lets the next season focus more on their actions themselves and the drama as opposed to building up backstory.

  • Why doesn't Telltale ever respond to threads like this? There seems to be a lot of smart users with good ideas on this forum.

  • I completely agree and nice idea also. Telltale should listen to you.

  • They do respond to some threads. They can't get to everything.

  • Agreed.

I hope the next DLC (if there is one) has more meaning this time around.

  • They could make the choices that didn't seem to alter the story in S2 have an effect in S3.

  • Yea hopefully the next DLC has a little more effect on Season 3... it has a lot of potential.
