I think I found a dead end in The Great Cow Race

I was playing through The Great Cow Race again yesterday, and when I got to the end of the game I think I managed to get myself into a dead end.

I threw the eggs into the mouth of the first rat creature, then threw pepper on the eye of the second rat creature. When he squinted his eye, I threw the bone at him.

Now I only had pepper left, but since I peppered the second rat creature, the third rat creature wouldn't look up so I could pepper him.

I couldn't throw anything at him that would work, so I was perpetually stuck!

I had to restart my game from the last saved game in order to finish the game.
