Who IS Clementine?
So, something that bothered me about the recent trailer and this whole, #MyClementine thing is this...
Are we Clem? Or is Clem her own person? This is her story after all, so, isn't it more, who will Clementine become, instead of who will YOU become? Yes, I know that the whole series has been about taking control of a character and acting out the apocalypse through this persons perspective, but shouldn't we be more considerate of who the person we're controlling is instead of simply placing ourselves as the person who controls the character?
If I had full reign, I'd make my Clementine a ruthless survivor who only looked out for people she deemed truly loyal. Then again, I'm not a 11 year old girl. But Clementine, the person we've been through this whole series with is. This is her story, not ours! So, lets think, a 11 year old girl who has gone through this whole apocalypse and lost so much, who is she really? More than anything, I want to do whats right for Clem, and taking control of her I try to take into consideration, if I really were this 11 year old girl, not the 22 year old woman I am, what would I really say? What would I really do? Who would I really be? But I'm not me in this game, I'm Clementine. I'm watching her story. So who is she really?
So shouldn't it make sense that this is more of, who will Clementine become instead of who will YOU become?
All I want is for Clementine to be happy, but what really makes her happy and what would make me happy, is not the same. So, I worry...
Opinions? Thoughts?

I am emotionally invested in this Character! You waste enough time on them, and they're not just characters, they're something special! You don't waste that much time on something you really like and not take that into consideration... In my opinion.
Haha I'm just kidding bro I make really intense passionate comments about the game too
RAGINGGG HNGHHHH
It's cool bro. ;D
I'd say it's more her story than our own. We shouldn't make the choices that we make based upon the actions that we ourselves would take, because it isn't our story, it's Clementine's. It's how she survives and what she has to do in order to accomplish that ultimate goal, not how we would survive. We aren't in this game, the whole story is focused on Clementine and the person that she is. Not who we are.
Clementine is a person, she is her own person, we don't control her in any way (By this, I mean that her story doesn't continue if you don't do anything with her in gameplay), it's HER story, if it wasn't, her deaths would all be canon, but they're not, we play a role in her life, we influence her decisions, we act as Clementine's conscience as we did for Lee.
I agree. It would make more sense for it to be, Who will Clementine become, not who will YOU become.
I agree.
Think about it...
All the dialogue options that we have is Clementine's own option of words.
No matter what we say, Clementine would have thought about saying it.
We just have the gift to influence her decisions, we act as her conscience in a way.
That's how I've been looking at it too. It helps to more fully flesh out the PC when I think about all of the options are what he/she is considering, giving me insight on how that character feels about different things.
As an example, I never thought about Clementine feeling guilty about Lee's death until I saw the options come up more than once and I realized that she does feel guilty, no matter how I play her. I just control if she chooses to tell anyone.
I'm only one year older than Clementine, so it's easier for me to empathize with her and understand this girl. Since I'm very non-confrontial person, I try to keep gentle and friednly to everyone. It's hard to tell what would I do in such world (or even tell if I will live the whole 2 years of ZA), but I think that I would like to keep my humanity with me. There's enough shit in this world. I don't need to be the part of it.
