Somethings I'd like to talk about
Ok so there are some things I'd like to talk about with the forums/fandom. Please stop with the urban jokes its not funny at all. Kenny said that because Lee was black and all black people know how to pick locks right? because all black people are thieves and steal right? NO. The ones that are using the joke are little 12 and 13 year olds who are too fucking stupid to get how fucked up it is. So yeah please stop.
Next is a topic no one on here likes to talk about and this post my get closed because of it. Clem's race. Now there are a lot on here saying Clem must be mixed because she's lightskin and has slanted asian like eyes. Well no she's black, that's it. People base it off Clem's parents and most people think Clem's mom is asian or mixed or something but not black can't be. She is. I have a sister about season 1 Clem's age and skin color and when she was first born she looked very asian. Like on her newborn baby picture she looks like an asian baby she's even a little pale. As she's gotten older she's getting darker. She won't be dark skin that's not gonna happen but she looks like she has a tan. Her skin color is about season 2 Clem's now. People can never tell what my sister is but most assume is part asian because of her eyes and skin color but I have eyes just like she does but no questions my race because i'm dark skin and that's what they expect black people to look like.
Look black people come in a rainbow of colors from the lightest of the light to the darkest of the dark. I had a girl come up to me and ask me how my sister is my sister because she's so light and i'm so dark. I wasn't offended more so shocked because she didn't get it and most people don't. So I don't care how lightskin Clem is she's black end of story. she's not white and she's not mixed deal with it. You guys can get mad and say whatever you want i don't care.

I fully agree with what you said about Clem, she is African American and it annoys me when people repeatedly say she isn't.
I can understand where you're coming from with the urban jokes. But people aren't repeating because they're racist. They are simply quoting a joke from a popular, well-liked character. It all depends on the situation they use it in. If they use it to offend someone, then fair enough, its wrong. But most of the time I've seen it, it's just a reference to Kenny and his 'joke'.

yeah i get that its just that they use it so freely but in the game the context that it was used was racist. I know these kids aren't racist.
Why would it annoy you? To me she definitely does not look black, but I guess physical appearance is less than genetics.
you don't get what i'm saying. ok so black isn't a race sure but if see someone that looks like me or any of my family they are black to me that's just what i say. i don't like african-american because it feels like people are patronizing me.

skin color aside you can look at her features and tell she's black.
I actually know a lot of my friends who are African American that prefer that term. If you do not live n America than African- whatever country. Same thing with every other race. It just kind of made me think when you said black was a race. Is yellow a race? Is red a race? White isn't even a race!
It annoys me when people are repeatedly told and maybe even given proof that she's black. But they still state that she is Asian, etc. Perhaps its just because I'm one of those people who don't like it when people say wrong facts.

Coming from the one swearing in every other sentence, I don't think you're much more mature than a 12 to 13 year old. Next, where did you get that? 12 and 13 year olds? I'm suuure every single person who uses that joke is 12 to 13.
Also, fucked up? It's a joke. It's hardly even offensive, if you have to make a whole thread bitching about it, then you're oversensitive.
well i don't like the term. i use black and white as alternatives to african-american and caucasian. a lot of people do.

No I really cannot see it in her face, I can see it is inspired by African facial features but not AS much as what she could be.

I have no idea how this annoys you, but I think you are the only one. Are you mad simply because you want her to be "black" and that is it? I have seen this many times on different topics...

i'm not oversensitive. i'm 17 and just because i curse doesn't mean i lack intelligence nor does it mean i'm not mature.
I doubt they're all kids that use it. (It's hard to write this when you're avatar is Duck!). It was used as racist I suppose, but it's main aim was to express Kenny's personality and it was meant to be comedic, not offense (not to Lee though).
I agree that people have to be careful as not to cross a 'line' from where it goes from a joke or reference to being offensive.
Well then don't call it a race. Now you are being somewhat hypocritical. Some people don't like to be referred to as black but rather African American. You don't like people being referred to as urban but rather black..

i'm call myself black because i live in america and come from slaves. now someone coming directly from africa with african parents born in american he's african-american not me. just like someone with a mexican background being born in american is a mexican -american. my roots are so mixed up and lost i'm so far from african.
Who says I'm mad?, and maybe 'annoy' was the wrong word choice but its along those lines. The fact is she is African American, and Telltale (the creators of Clementine) have confirmed this. So it 'gets on my nerves' when people say she's Asian, etc. When, officially, she is not.
People of mixed race are called African American all of the time. I have no idea how you overlooked this. You do sound angry. I have no idea how when people are giving their opinions on a nonexistent character is offensive or annoying to you.
You guys are just arguing semantics now. Alot of people use the term black/white, but only racist assholes say yellow people.
