What does everyone do for a living?
I was just thinking about occupation dispertion in various forums and stuff, and was curious about what you guys' jobs are!
Personally, I work in construction , although that's not my end aim. I'm using my evening to write, as I hope of becoming a novelist at some point
What about you?

Last year of middle school coming, but for now I'm still in holiday
I'm currently working at Publix. Americans know what that is.
However, I'm halfway through the process of becoming a lawyer. I also attend college, by the way. Finishing some legal stuff there.
I'm a part-qualified accountant.
I'm a software developer. I write the programs that make the ... whole ... 'Net ... run!
Wow, you sound extremely busy!
I'm not an american, so, the question you were expecting, what is 'Publix'?
Cool, my Dad used to be an accountant
Haha, I got you. This is a picture of my own store:
Basically, it's this huge supermarket that sells everything. You get from fruits and meats, to flowers and medicine. It's divided into pharmacy, bakery, deli, etc. Did that help a little?
Of course, you can always google "Publix" for a better look.
Oh that's awesome, like a 'Hypermarche' they have in France
That's exactly what it is. (;
Woah, so the name is written similarly in Spanish, English, and French?
Spanish: "Supermercado"
English: "Supermarket"
French: "Hypermarche"
Ah, in english a 'supermarket' is different to a french 'hypermarche' though :
The french have 'supermarche' and 'hypermarche', hypermarche just has much more, like what you descrbied.
But yeah, the word is similar in english, french and spanish. And italian for that instance (supermercato).
This is because they originally all come from Latin in part, particularly French, Italian and Spanish.
Super means 'above' or colloquially 'better' in Latin, and 'market' originally comes from 'mercator' meaning merchant
All of the words are different slightly, but all similar because of that root. Cool stuff like this is why I love linguistics
I know right? It's awesome!
Don't take my word for it, but Portuguese is said to be similar to Spanish, too. I don't know, though. I only speak English, Spanish, and a little bit of Italian.
Well, that's logical right? Portugal and Spain used to be the same country
I'm from Spain. Well, I was born in Florida, but my people come from Madrid. (;
We seem to get along too well. You do realize I'm a Kenny fan, right?
Not fanboy, though.
Badass
Publix is Awesome!
You shop there?
I'd "help you save some money" if you lived in Florida, heh. I get a lot of discounts and offers. Wouldn't mind helping a fellow Kenny fan.
I unload boxes.
If you order anything from Amazon or work for Gamestop, Grainger, AT&T, Motorola, or Henry Schein, I hate you. I hate you so much for ruining my life
Well I would like that but what if me and you could make a clan? All Kenny Fans Clan Make a account on this forum and side with each other. You being the Leader and all.
Sounds great!
Then, you can all move to Florida, go fishing on huge boats, and shop at Publix.
What about an extra special non-Kenny fan
Ah, but the difference between fanboy and fan is crucial
People who don't like Kenny get on fine with people who do like it as long as neither of them rub this fact in each others faces by accusing Kenny of attempted murder or spamming racist slurs, boat jokes and comments on facial hair
Hell, Why not
Ex:SeizureSaltlick
I personally don't give a damn whether people like him or not. I love his character and what he brings to the table. I could be the only one who likes him for all I care. I mean, it's not like everything is lovely about him. The fact that he's a bit of a hypocrite is one of his main flaws. So, no, I don't let a person's preferences ruin my opinion on him or her.
Flog61Machete if you are team Luke or Flog61Racoon for Team Mike. Just showing what your clan can be.
Construction unfortunately
Do you guys have any in Tooele or Salt Lake City?
Did you get an Everest Backpack? If so, that was me. :ashamed:
First year of middle school, so no job yet unfortunately.
I breathe...
And you get paid for it?!
Man that sounds awesome :P
Ha hey it's not too bad
Get a tan at least ahahaha
Well I just graduated high School and now have a part time job I work at Thursday's and Fridays and the first Sunday of every month as a dishwasher for a club.
Here is a picture of the place.
Funny story... well not so funny, but one of the drunks that was there crashed into those stone things and hit the building one day. Scared the hell out of me lol
Yup... living the dream... breathing oxygen is totes fun.
Dat Elmo though!
Inhaling and Exhaling... doesn't get any better than that.
Haven't honed in on a particular career yet, but I'm switching my major from Int'l Relations to "Converged Communications." I'm taking a semester off to help my parents move down to Florida (and transfer there for the in-state tuition), so in the short term, I'm gonna to find some kind of day-laborer job and try to throw freelance writing at anyone who might publish it or pay me.
Long term, I'm not sure. Best case, I'll break into something like journalism, translation or editing. Worst case, I'll teach English in the mid-east or join the peace corp til' I figure out what I'm doing.
Ha true but you also get fucking soaking and the winters are not fun
Yeah, they definitely aren't
And in German 'Supermarkt'. Very similar words. We're all Latin to some extent (at least our language)
