Would you like to be able to upload animated avatars?
I'd rather not. It's annoying enough to open up one page of a thread containing more gifs than the Tumblr page of an 11-year-old. Adding more to the mix seems unnecessary.
On a forum, what you write should be most important. Let's not add too many distractions to that.
