The End Of The Clementine Train [Do Not Read If You Haven't Played Or Seen Season 2 Episode 5]

This may be the last thread I make for a long time as college has started just as Season 2 ends. I'll probably be on lurking status and comment occasionally until the "Clementine Face" and "Walking Fan Art of the Dead" threads die. It was fun being on here. Hopefully, I will rejoin you all again when Season 3 gets moving. Thanks everyone and thanks TellTale. Now for my final thoughts...

As much as we all love Clementine and look at her like a virtual sister/daughter/friend, I believe this is the end of the road from her story. We have 5 different endings all going five different ways. Also, there were time skips in between the rest stop scene and the endings. There would have to be way too much plot convenience in order for Clem to return, even as a supporting character. Even if TellTale left her out of Season 3, decide to do a Season 4, and then decide to have Clem show up in Season 4 in different episodes depending on who your Clementine became, your still talking about a huge area (a radius of a 9 day walk from the rest stop) that would have to be conveniently covered in two to three episodes and for some reason for Clem to either be alone or out and about. The ending kind of remind me of the Portal ending; it is not the happiest ending, but it completes the story and it can be left there as it is. With each ending, Clem is undoubtedly alive and surviving. It may not be the happiest ending in the world, but it is the happiest we may ever see in The Walking Dead universe. Any continuation of Clem's story will most likely come from us, the fan base. We have our own Clementines and we can make her story go down anywhere we want. Through fan art, fan fictions, and even people using programs like Source Filmmaker, Clem story will continue to live, it just won't be canon. Now I don't underestimate TellTale. If they could somehow bring Clem back into the game during Season 3/maybe a future Season 4 without it seeming forced or too convenient, then I'm all for it. As of now, it seems like they are moving on to a new story arc. May the next one be more successful than this one. As we all depart the Clementine train, let us be patient, for a new train cometh and cometh soon.

  • It wouldn't be called Season 3 if it wasn't a continuation. They'll either tie up all endings into a good start for Season 3 or just pick the most chosen ending from the stats.
