Why the Five Endings don't Work.

Don't get me wrong., I loved them, but they don't work. I'll state the facts on how they appear.

After the fight, Kenny will stab Jane if you don't shoot him. You can either [Shoot Kenny] or [Look Away]. I think this is evil of TT, because as much as I love Kenny, I can't simply look away. I love Jane too, but Kenny more. It made me sad that the nicer decision was to shoot Kenny. I shot him and ditched Jane. How she hid the baby was amazing, and THAT worked. What didn't work was either way, they both become determinant, so now we know they are dead either way, and season 3 will either be a new protagonist OR a new group. Also, our choices throughout the game didn't even matter. Now with the endings. I'll do the one I got first.

Alone: This is the most logical ending, you are alone with the baby, just about to go through a herd. Sadly, this is the most boring and unsatisfying one, as there is no dialogue, nor choices. A cutscene. At least a simple [Go through herd] or [Walk around herd] at LEAST!

Jane: This one seems less cannon, and has less feels, but more of a lasting impact. You won't get sad, more guilty. Going back to Howe's was ok, but you find a family. Jane hasn't changed. A family comes, who are sentenced to death if you don't accept them, and you choose to let them in or to deny them. A hard choice. Letting them go, makes the boy turn back for a long while, as the family walks away, the guild eating you up. If you let them in, they show great care for you. The family being antagonists in the future is out of question, because now they are also determinant (Unknown or alive).

Kenny: This one has less of an impacted choice, but more FEELZ D:. Kenny is now redeemed of insanity with the two people he love, and you get to Wellington, where Christa isn't. They don't have room for more people, but Kenny convinces the girl, Edith, to let the kids in. You choose if you stay with Kenny or go into Wellington with AJ. A lot of sadness here, but this leaves Kenny unknown and alive, just like the family. He is now sentenced to death, he becomes missing in the ending, meaning after all choices, the last choice is to leave Kenny, giving multiple chances to leave Kenny in this episode. If there was a determinant rate, he would be at the top. With as many "Leave/Kill Kennys" as there is, no way is he going to be main in season 3.

In conclusion, the 5 endings causes a lot of confusion, and a lot of people who we know are dead. I would have liked a cannon ending, whether it be Jane's or Kenny's ending sequence, and a big choice, would have worked better.

2 posts are not better than one.

Im guessing telltale chose to make multiple endings because it was a way of ending clem's story and give closure to most of the players.

  • Well, we can't really judge whether the five endings work or not until we see how Telltale implement them all into Season 3. I guess we'll find out.

  • While I do think one cannon ending could be a good thing, I think some people will complain about "the not having your choices matter and everything you do will lead to the same ending" kinda deal again.

  • They will work ;)

What if the ending won't matter in season 3?

As far as i know a character from season 2 will be the protagonist right?

But we don't know who it is.

I think Christa will be the new protagonist, because her story seems to be the only one that isn't finished yet.

If season 3 plays in the same time of season 2, there will be no need for a canon ending,

So the ending you had in season 2 will not matter,

    But that's just a theory

  • It won't, with Jane and Kenny determinant, the ending won't matter unless you're alone, if Clem is the protagonist.

I hope Christa is NOT the protagonist. Her character is so dull and... average.

  • I don't like the idea of her being the protagonist either :/

But her story just seems unfinished.

Who knows: Maybe (hopefully) she's just part of a DLC for season 2?

  • It also helps that Christa is basically a blank slate, we mainly know that she had a baby and she was bitter over Omid's death, but not much more than that.
