Mike's fate was supposed to be different (I think + proof)

(my english isn't good at all, i hope you can understand this thread)

Ok, let me explain, in my first walkthrough i got this determinant decision (I played the PS3 version)

Alt text

but all we know that the correct decision is "Asked to leave with Mike?"

I don't use internet in my PS3 ( I don't like playing online or stuff like that), I just downloaded the episode 5 and unplugged my ethernet cable, so I was playing offline (that means no Walking Dead's updates)

Long story short, when I updated the game, the determinant decision "Shot Mike" changed to "Asked to leave with Mike"

Here is where I understand it all. The real Choice was "Shot Mike?" and not "Asked to leave with Mike?"

Now lets watch this vídeo (skip at 1:09:35)

video

there are two options "Threaten" and "Give the gun", but no matter what is your choice, Mike takes the gun from you.

I noticed if you pick "Threaten", the next scene is a bit "weird", watch at 1:09:42 - 1:09:47, I think in that moment we were supossed to choose between shoot or not shoot Mike, but for some reason Telltale didn't like the idea and just let him go.

Or maybe is just my imagination and I'm talking sh*t.

What do you think people?

  • Mike is not determinant like the others. He runs away, regardless and doesn't die.

  • Interesting, it seems the PS3 version has revealed a lot of original things. Such as the episode implied to be originally called "Better To Sleep" and now we could shoot Mike? Well damn. I wish they kept the choice though.

  • Goddamn it... first Luke was supposed to live and now THIS?!

  • Wow, great find. This is pretty interesting, wonder why they changed it.

  • I tried to replay this part, and I could shoot Mike

  • That means Mike is the new Kenny, Originally supposed to die and as such destined to appear in season 3

I shot Mike in my playthrough. If you threaten him, as he's moving towards you you can shoot him in the chest. Then Arvo shoots you and it goes to the dream sequence.

  • I seriously was waiting for a choice to shoot him. i was ready to shoot him but it never came.

  • Jesus really?

Yeah, he looks at you, collapses then Arvo shoots you. Then as you're going unconscious you see Bonnie sitting over you saying "I'm so sorry", the screen fades out as you hear Kenny arriving saying "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO TO HER" and generally acting like Kenny.

If you look in the video at the top, at 1:09:43 is the moment when you're able to do it. Mine was on the PS3 and manually downloaded from the PSN store instead of through the game. When you wake up in the car afterwards one of the first things you can say is "is Mike dead?" but I didn't pick it.

  • I can assure you it is true. Why would I lie about something as meaningless as this?

  • I didn't get the option. No one i saw or knew playing get it either. The wiki doesn't state that you can either.

  • I'll try and rewind and film it. Don't know why the PS3 version seems to be different from the PC one.

  • And, having just loaded up my game, in the choices screen at the end the "Vengeance" choice simply isn't there. I have the other four, but only four.

    Waaaaaaaaat?!

I'm pretty sure when you threaten him he moves to u slowly, but you don't get an option to shoot him. Though it seemed weird like there was supposed to be that option.

  • For anyone saying it's not possible to shoot Mike, here's a video I just took showing that it is.

  • It's done with the mouse/direction, it's not a button choice. You have to move the cursor over his chest and shoot.

  • It is in fact true, I also got that choice but it seems that it only happens on the PS3

  • Very weird. I didn't get the option. A glitch on xbox possibly?

  • Well I have a PC version and in that one you don't have cursor, though it really looks like there should be one. Is PS3 really that much different?

    Was Luke supposed to live?

EDIT: Nevermind, Luke was supposed to live.

Goddamn it... first Luke was supposed to live and now THIS?!

So what happens next? Obviously Clem gets shot, but what does Bonnie say, do they still run off with Mike? Does Clem get an option to ask about him in the car?

  • Can somebody records it and upload it?

  • There's a link right here.

  • Yeah, you get three options: "Is Mike dead?" "Is Bonnie okay?" and "I can't believe they'd do that."

    Clem: Is Mike dead?

    Jane: Yeah.

Kenny: You got nothing to be sorry about, Clem. We were all wrong about him.

  • Well... Luke was apparently supposed to survive, so I'm guessing Mike was originally going to be determinant?

  • It states.

  • They probably killed off Luke because they probably put him in place of leaving with Arvo and the others but thought it was out of character for him to leave Clementine

  • How?

  • Yeah that was one little thing I noticed.

At the dinner table, if you sit with Luke, it says "Kenny will remember this" and he will remind Clementine of that in the truck.

If you sit with Kenny though, it doesnt say that Luke will remember it and he never mentions it in the game.

  • So you can shoot Mike on PS3? How do you do it on PC/Xbox?

  • So does Bonnie react to Mike being shot? And does it change how she feels about Clem?

For anyone saying it's not possible to shoot Mike, here's a video I just took showing that it is.

  • LOL

I almost want to replay the whole goddamn game on PS3 so I can get both Mike and Bonnie killed. Fucking bastards.
