Is it a wrong choice to let Clementine smoke and drink?

The youngsters group members like Jane, Luke, Bonnie, Mike, Nick seem to don't mind Clementine drink alcohol and smoke cigarette. Was Kenny right about them being bad influence to Clementine?

It seems she didn't like it very much anyway, and it's the ZA. Does it matter?

  • Everybody have to try it once in their life... even Clementine

  • Smoking and drinking - bad, killing - good.

  • Its not right for a 12 years old girl.It might damage her brain or something..Kenny had duck so he knew it was wrong..

There are no "wrong" choices, really. If you think Clementine is ready for a drink or a smoke, especially since it's the ZA, that's up to you. But personally, I didn't approve.

  • smoking and drinking- unnesscary, killing - to survive

  • Well, she's still 11... No matter how much you hate Kenny, at the end of the day, he didn't want Clem drinking while everyone else was perfectly cool with it.

  • As a 28 year old who smokes and drinks, i let her do both because i figure, What the hell. Its not like its going to kill you. She probably has PTSD, so she needs self medication time. I wouldn't let her drink on a empty stomach though.

  • Don't believe in the DARE propaganda, kids get drunk all the time and are fine. If Clementine wants to have a drink i think she earned it. Its her choice.

  • SOmeone got a mvideo where she smokes

  • One sip and puff were certainly not going to kill her

  • I let her drink with Nick and Jane. I didn't get the option to smoke with Bonnie, but if I did I would say no.

  • It's not healthy for an undeveloped body to frequently drink alcohol. That's not propaganda, that's fact.

But yeah, a single drink won't do any harm at all.

  • I let her do both. It's not like it's even possible for her to become a smoker and alcohol? Ugh I think she deserved to relax a bit.

Yeah cos Clem has access to a minibar. How the fuck do you think she'll frequently drink alcohol, it's a ZA where Clem is a survivor, not a bartender. Plus her body is much more resistant than usual 11 year olds.

When did I say Clem frequently drinks? Try reading what people actually write.

What I was saying was that underage drinking being unhealthy is not propaganda. I even pointed out a single drink wouldn't harm her.

Jesus, try using your head before commenting.

  • My Clem took a sip from the Rum. My Clem wouldn't smoke though.

I'm sorry what? What you're saying doesn't make sense.

I write this, totally unrelated to Clementine:

It's not healthy for an undeveloped body to frequently drink alcohol. That's not propaganda, that's fact.

I wasn't pointing out that it was unhealthy for Clementine. I was pointing out that underage drinking being unhealthy is definately not propaganda.

I rest my case, I'll rather keep my head instead of yours, bye.

What does this even mean? I don't even..

EDIT: Cool, editing your post so I look like an ass. I'm not raging. I was pointing something out to another poster, and you misunderstand my post and rather aggressively point out how stupid I am.

  • its a zombie apocalypse. clementine may never reach adulthood, so let her have a bit of a drink and a smoke!!!

  • It's a fact, I had my first drink at 14, I'm sure this/next generation will drink even younger.

"kids get drunk all the time" what a great parent/upcoming parent you are

  • Just want to point out, that frequent drinking isn't exactly healthy for a fully grown body either :)

  • I basically said no, because I didn't want to risk her developing a taste for commodity items that could instead be valuable in trades :)

  • Very true. But it can do a lot of damage when your body is developing. And I'm not talking alcoholic levels of drinking (every day), but just frequent (maybe once or several times a week)

  • Kenny was, as far as I know, the only one in the group who was a father. That makes a difference I guess. Even though it wouldn't do any harm to Clem to get a drink, and she might even need one, Kenny couldn't let go of his father instinct.

Whether the others were a bad influence on Clem, I don't know.. Luke definately wasn't though :'(

  • When I was 14 I got so drunk, that I couln't stand upright anymore and I'm a kid of the 80ies...

I'm 17 And I haven't smoked in my entire life and I'm proud of it. So not everybody has to try it... I never will.

  • Yes. Its a wrong choice...

In a way it is the zombie apocalypse so it doesn't matter, but I really disagree with letting her smoke. I let her try the drink though. Does it really matter anymore? At any second she could die.

A bit of topic: It's actually kind of sad that she doesn't know what sex is when kids are starting to realize what it is at 12. At lest Telltale realizes that little kids shouldn't know details about sex.

  • Wow people are so mind controlled. It is Clementine's choice if she wants to smoke you can't stop her especially when you been treating her like a adult when you need her help, then treating her like a child because she does something you don't approve of, hippocrates.

  • Having a sip wasn't that bad. I think that Kenny might have drunk some when he was a little older than her, and he didn't want Clem to become like him (that's my interpretation on it anyways). I was pretty surprised when Bonnie offered her the cigarette though, I know that just one drag wasn't going to cause her harm or anything, but it still felt kind of weird. Personally I didn't have her smoke or drink.

I think the only one of them that might have been a bad influence was Bonnie (with the cigarette), I don't really think she was though.

  • Writing in caps is not a substitute for an argument. Having a sip or two will not cause any damage, even on a twelve year old. If that were the case, than kids should not eat ripe bananas, which can contain 0.6% alcohol. So about five ripe bananas is the same as a small glass of beer.

  • I let Clem have a sip, it didn't hurt her and I'd let my kids try drinks, not saying I'd give them the bottle, but a sip isn't bad at all.

Smoking on the other hand... I wish I had the option to burn Bonnie with the ciggie.
