Interrogation Evidence, EP2

edited August 2014 in The Wolf Among Us

In episode 1 of The Wolf Among Us, Bigby was detained for questioning by the NYPD. Brannigan was questioning him, next to her was a camera recording the conversation and Bigby's face. When Crane's memory spell kicks in, she makes a much better effort at resisting the effects, if Crane's word on its quality is to be believed. He leaves with a box of stuff, and Bigby leaves with the picture of Snow White.

If the complications with Brannigan were supposed to be dropped, the crew made a few mistakes with this scene...unless it was intentionally put off for a season sequel, in which I retract my opinion from my following observations.

The camera is still rolling and if the New York police aren't stupid(they aren't, I don't think), it must be recording. Nobody shuts this off as they leave. Crane had everything gathered up in a box as if he was ready to leave.

The Huff 'n' Puff cigarettes. Bigby doesn't take them with him. They're also purportedly widely viewed as a terrible brand. Crane implies with "hurry it up!" that he and Bigby don't have a lot of time to leave before the Mundies wake up and wonder what they're doing in the interrogation room interrogating one of their officers for...nothing. They would probably notice the cigarette in the ashtray in the interrogation room is still warm, and put two and two together.

The tape and video recording could easily be explained away as being shut off and taken within the 15 seconds of time that passes between the officers passing out and Crane busting into the room. Brannigan could easily assume that the cigarette was from one of her isolated, interrogation room smoke breaks. If she even buys that brand. But it all just seems a little too easy to hand-wave, especially since she was planned to probably be, at the very least, suspicious of Bigby, if an earlier image of the in-game preview for A Crooked Mile in the episode-selector is any indicator.

What do you guys think? Season 2 confirmed, with Brannigan? A sloppy patch-job by the Crew? Or are my off-hand lampshades good enough? Got any more lampshades?
