The Sword of Epic

edited April 2009 in General Chat
Hello- I'm pretty new here. I think I only posted on the Mother 3 fan translation thread here awhile ago, and then stuck to reading posts, not making them. Anyway, I'm in need of some advise. I'm hoping to make a webcomic called "The Sword of Epic," but I'm unsure of which type of art I should use. I think that the sketchy version, apart from its sketch-iness, is a bit better looking, but the Manga Studio-Gimp-ed one has color and actual fonts.
So... Which one do you think is better?

It was a tough decision, but I liked the Sketchy one.

    Sketchy:
+You have a pretty good handwriting
    +Good drawings
+Better way to show moving arms/legs

    COMPUTER'D!
    +Color
+(Possibly) easier to edit graphical errors

I really like the expressions here, and I think that's the most important thing in a comic, except for the script.

I would like better a sketched version of the comic.

Yeah- I think I'll do a sketchy version, but perhaps i'll pen over it. It seems to lose the art style when it's on the computer. Thanks!

Also: Do you think the comic would start better like that, or straight to the action, like in this one?

I prefer the second start. Seems more straight forward.
Adding to that, I really don't like the computerized version at all. Feels to paint-y to me.
I would try Photoshop or something if I were you, but the sketchy might work as well. Maybe you could ink it? It's a little hard to see some of the stuff.

I really like your style, and the expressions on the characters. Keep up the good work!

If you're serious about it, spring for a WACOM tablet or something similar. That way you get the best of both worlds. They're expensive, but they do wonders.
