Anyone Else Prefer The Cold?

I do, and lucky for me, where I live, the average day in the middle of winter is -31 Fahrenheit or so, without windchill. Not sure why I like this, I think it is because cold air feels better to breathe and I'd take being cold over being hot and thirsty all the time any day.

  • I'm not a huge fan of being cold, but I'd rather be super cold then really hot

  • I'd rather be cold than hot.

  • I love the cold and the overall feeling of it. It feels nice wearing the proper attire given to combat a cold day. Plus, it's one of the main reasons I love Christmas and hot chocolate. Some hot chocolate in the cold or in the comfort of your own home sounds good right about now.

    Yum.

  • I live somewhere that's constantly cold, however, I have not yet gotten used to it...

  • I hate the cold. Give me summer any day!

  • Me. Well, not freezing cold per se, but I prefer a more mild climate. Probably why I've lived in Scandinavia for so long.

  • Hell yea I prefer the cold! Fucking sweating my ass off like a pig in this summer heat. >:(

Just curious but for all the people who say they like the cold better, how hot is it in the summer where y'all live? Where I'm from triple digits are normal for summer temps.

And I prefer hot. Being cold is the worst, especially when you can't get warmed up.

Yeah that and having no one to help you get warmed up lol

  • How cold does it get in New Zealand?

I hate the cold. Give me summer any day!

  • Its not actually too bad where I am (in the bottom of the north island). The south island is the worst, especially right at the bottom. Our weather is pretty tame compared to other cold climates, but, we do get frosts and stuff like that.

  • Nice. For some reason I always picture NZ in a constant state of summer, but I guess I wouldn't really know lol. Would love to go there some day.

  • Oh you should! Its one of the most beautiful countries in the world. That, and we need more tourists. Australia gets too many lol

Denmark, it's barely ever blisteringly hot, but it's barely ever freezing cold either. Doesn't go above the 20s (Celsius) much, but winters never go too far into the negatives either.

  • Cold can be comfortable.. But hot can't. I can sit in a really cold room but if its really hot than I'm suffering. I absolutely hate sweating and its just unpleasant. But if you turn the AC on too high and I start getting really cold than I'm in heaven. I live in Utah so I'm in the damn desert dealing with the hot all the time!

  • Generally 85-100, and the damn humidity never goes below 60% it seems. Summer is the worst time of the year, and anymore our extra hot Springs are just as bad. I grew up a farm boy, and I still tend a crop, but I always prefer the Fall crop.

  • I don't really get cold, but I'd definitely rather be cold than hot. No matter what the temperature is here, and sometimes it'll drop into the negatives (Fahrenheit), the most I ever wear is an unlined flannel over a t shirt, and a pair of jeans. I'm someone that doesn't bother to put shoes on when it's snowing if I won't be outside for over 10 minutes though, so I'm on the extreme side of cold lovers I think.

  • I love when it's cold, though I may be a "noob" for saying that because I haven't actually been in temperatures below 30 degrees F before.

When its cold you can put as many jackets or blankets on as you want but when its hot you can only take so much off...

  • Sorry I meant that to say can't get warmed up, not want get... lol

That's why I wear like 4 shirts during the winter. XD

  • Jesus that's too damn cold. In the winter we barely make it to 20 celsius, that's usually about as cold as it gets. Where I live summers are usually June - September with the temperature average in the high 90's and sometimes up to the 115's.

  • That my friends sounds like Florida. I go to Flordia every summer and that about sums up what it feels like.

Yeah, the fall weather is my favorite.

  • Yeah, that makes sense. My problem is I can't get warm sometimes, doesn't matter how many shirts/jackets I layer I get so damn cold. :( Worst experience is when I had the flu. I had my heater on, wearing a long sleeve shirt and pajama pants, and with 4 blankets I was still freezing and couldn't warm up.

  • Maybe you had a "cold"...I hope you laughed because that was suppose to be a joke...

  • If I hadn't have almost died from that case of the flu I would've been in good humor to laugh at my own illness. Seriously, it was bad. D:

cold is better for one reason alone:

    you can warm up easily.

if you are hot, do whatever the fuck you want, you will not cool down unless you throw yourself into a bathtub full of ice cubes. and who the fuck would do that...?

  • ...Damn dude, hey at least you arent DEAD, so yeah. awkward silence

  • Sorry I didn't mean to make it awkward! It's just I had never been that sick before, so it was a scary experience. So yeah, I'm alive, and now I get my flu shot every year. D:

  • Yeah, it went something like a tanktop, underneath a t-shirt, underneath a cardigan, underneath a jacket. And a scarf along with some cowboy boots. lol

I don't handle the cold very well. XD

Hmm I've seen a few wear them. Leather boots are more popular.

Sorry if that question sounded ignorant, I've been to a few states in the US and nowhere outside of the US, and I've only ever seen them worn in my home state of TX. A good old pair of broken in cowboy boots are the most comfortable, warm, and awesome shoes you can wear IMO. :D

  • No, not ignorant at all. Its a legit question to ask. :)

Ah so you are a Texan girl? Nice ;)
