    Such a hard question... It depends; there are movies that I like that resonate with me, and there are movies that I think are excellent in and of themselves... Some of these are the one some of these are the other:

    Taxi Driver - Martin Scorsese

    Hour of the Wolf - Ingmar Bergman

    Kagemusha - Akira Kurosawa

    The Bad Sleep Well - Akira Kurosawa

    Solaris - Andrei Tarkovsky

    Summer of Sam - Spike Lee

    The Woodsman - Nicole Kassell

    One Hour Photo - Mark Romanek

    Metropolis - Fritz Lang

    Before the Devil Knows You're Dead - Sidney Lumnet

    Le Feu Follet - Louis Malle

    Btw, when you say "Man from Nowhere" - do you mean the Korean movie?

    If you liked that, you'd really like "Oldboy," "The Chaser," "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance," "Hwanghae," there are tons of really good Korean films these days.

    I've seen Oldboy. It was pretty good. Disgusting especially near the end, but good.
