Season 1 vs. Season 2
Hello, this is my Season 1 vs. Season 2. I played them both, got sad in both, and I put my heart into both, but one is better. In my opinion, S1 is better. Why? Well here it is.
Storyline:
S1: Season 1 made me feel like I was in a zombie apocalypse. Scavenging cities, making hard choices, and handing out food. You had the responsibility of a young girl, while struggling to keep yourself alive. You have the demanding leader, the asshole, the good shot/the smart one (Carley/Doug), the liability, the kids, and the doctor (Vet), and the determined. I felt like that is a group that would be a thing. One of them betrays? That is legit, people would betray and shoot someone else. Yelling? Yes. Everything felt on point. Kenny's family dying, it fit.. It was surprising, but what do you expect? It's the ombie apocalypse.
S2: Season 2 took place in the forest, more of survival and less of scavenging. We had choices that didn't seem realistic, and we shot and dodge walkers. We had no leader, three nice guys, a bitc- I mean pregnant women, a liability, a bad doctor, and a psycho. The story was going for a dramatic style, rather than a realistic one. I felt the feeling of sadness and anger more, but that was because there was a lot of it. Too much. S1 had a good pace with the sadness and anger, and it made the game really impacting. Season 2 went for more sad and anger inducing times, but less impacting. Some of the choices I doubt I would have to make in a zombie apocalypse.
Characters:
S1: Season 1 had a wide range of characters, who all were different in their own way, and let you get to know them. They developed over time, and I felt like I knew them. When one of them died, I caught myself saying "WHY HIM/HER?" every time. We had a man with a heart problem, a boy who is good with mechanics, an interesting journalist, etc. It all felt diverse and natural.
S2: Season 2 had almost all the same characters. We had a lot of nice guys, a drunk and a pregnant (Two dicks), an annoying liability, and a doctor. Everyone except for Luke I was fine with their death, I didn't know them very well. No chance to get to know them. One second you give them an extra can of beans and the next they're dead or tortured. I was only sad about Luke because of the way he died, it impacted me because he was nice, not that he was my friend. The final decision was hard, but only because it showed Jane as the victim. If it was the opposite, the stats would be the opposite. It didn't matter about the characters.
Hubs:
S1: Had a lot, helped me know the characters. Not much needed.
S2: Do I need to say anything? There was the boring dog one, the sneaking around the cabin one (But it didn't really help me get to know anyone, except Sarah), the bad howe's one, an the bad museum one. They didn't help me get to know anyone.
If you want me to assess anything else let me know.
TL:DR
Season 1 is better than season 2 with the characters, hubs, and storyline. Season 2 didn't get me attached, nor was it as interesting.
