Gay Rights

I know this is a very controversial topic that arouses strong opinions, but let's all be respectful here.

I, for one, strongly support gay rights for two reasons:

A: They're not hurting anyone. Homosexuality does no physical or mental damage to a person whatsoever. So what if two people of the same gender make out at home or in public? Nobody's getting hurt by it. And if there is a God (which is possible in my opinion) then he would not hate gays for being who they are.

B: Human rights apply to ALL PEOPLE. Every person on the planet has the right to life, which means that countries that execute people for being gay are violating that right. There is also the right to freedom of speech, which should include homosexual behaviour. Everyone is equal from the moment of their birth until the day they die.

I end by saying that since it harm's nobody's well being or freedom, then it causes no harm. And as for those who disagree with gay rights, you don't have to like it, because we can't just decide that we think the opposite way. Our brain decides something and we can't change that. All you just have to do is accept it and move on.

To be honest, I couldn't care less if people are gay, lesbian or whatever. Its their life, they can do what they want with it. We all got the freedom to choose. And besides, who am I to judge how someone lives? As long as they don't push their lifestyle on to me, then they are all good.

I remember a gay guy hit on me once. After that experience, I used to be repulsed by homosexuals. (This was a long time ago, when I was a rather immature person). Now, I accept them.

  • I could care less if someone is straight, gay, transgendered, bi...whatever. They are not affecting my life and choices I'm making. I have plenty of gay friends that live normal lives with their significent other; some have families of their own and the kids are loved and well taken care of.

Who am I to judge you and the choices you make as a person?

  • The fuck's it so 'controversial' for, anyway? Don't the governments of the world have more important shit to do than scapegoat gays and lesbians?

People can screw and marry whoever they want as far as I'm concerned. They aren't a public menace. I don't understand the people who say 'fedral guberment stay out of our lives!" but demand that congress passes gay marriage laws. 'Social conservative' hypocrisy is truly in rare form, these days.

  • I really don't give a shit about what others want to do marriage wise, But at the same time I personally dont get how someone can be attracted to their same Gender.

  • LGBT people should have equal rights, of course. I hate how some people think their personal opinion should be legislated. I don't care if 99.99 percent of people don't like LGBT or polygamy or whatever between consenting adults, they should still be allowed to legally do it.

Hell, I wouldn't eat my own shit, but if some guy is into that, he should be allowed to do it legally.

I also hate how people think transgenders are weird perverts that just want to go into the women's toilets and rape. The general public is a much bigger threat to them then they are. There are plenty of cases where transgender people have been assaulted in toilets, but NONE where a transgender has gone in and raped.

I have a friend from high school who is transgender. She doesn't look like a man in a dress. I am straight, but I think she is hot.

    Sorry for the digression.

  • They probably can't figure out how someone could be attracted to the opposite gender. Its subjective.

I don't mind, nor do I judge sexual minorities for how they live their lives, as long as their lifestyle is not imposed on everyone else, which is, unfortunately, becoming a problem nowadays. Tolerance being forced so actively in mass media and by social events is starting to make me worry that it will eventually turn into propaganda. I don't want my children to be raised in that kind of society, where they will not be protected from information they're just not ready to be aware of. Also, please note, I'm not saying that all gay people are like that, some are pretty cool actually, but the extremists are just fucking disgusting.

  • An extremist gay? What? Then what's an extremist straight? xD

  • I support gay rights a million percent! I grew up around people who are gay, and it seems to be common in my family. My grandma was bisexual, my great great uncle was a flaming homosexual who was a hairdresser for Carol Burnett and attended Harlem Balls in drag. My aunt is happily married to her wife and they are some of the coolest people I know. A really close friend of the family is a lesbian and she is awesome.

People are so rigid with labels for sexuality. It's Gay, Straight, Bi, and that's who you are- confined in a box. I think sexuality is a much more fluid thing and people need to experiment to find out more about their own. In my opinion, straight guys who are the most comfortable in their sexuality are the ones that can admit that another guy is handsome or have no qualms about giving a friend a hug.

I've always thought myself straight since I like guys, and I never gave it a second thought until a girl flirted with me at a party. Now I'm a lot more open to the idea of me maybe liking both genders- I'm not gonna label myself as bi since I don't know, but I'm open to a lot of things. Anyone who makes your sexuality their business probably has problems of their own and my advice is to kindly tell them to fuck off. Embrace who you are and what makes you happy, and don't let any close-minded people tell you different!

  • I meant controversial by the fact that in several countries, homosexuality is punishable by death.

  • Then why did you comment?

  • I believe all people should have the same rights. And lefts. But mostly rights.

  • Just saying. I'm not against nor for it so please don't bash me. We are all humans, but this is what God says about gays.

Leviticus 18:22, “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.” An abomination is anything that is disgusting to God.

Leviticus 20:13, “If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.”

Deuteronomy 23:17,28 “There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel. Thou shalt not bring the hire of a whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of the LORD thy God for any vow: for even both these are abomination unto the LORD thy God.” The word “dog” means a sodomite or a male prostitute.

  • Leviticus 11:7-8, "And the pig, because it parts the hoof and is cloven-footed but does not chew the cud, is unclean to you. You shall not eat any of their flesh, and you shall not touch their carcasses; they are unclean to you." (Not allowed to eat pig)

Leviticus 11:10, "But anything in the seas or the rivers that has not fins and scales, of the swarming creatures in the waters and of the living creatures that are in the waters, is detestable to you." (Not allowed to eat shellfish)

Deuteronomy 22:11, "Do not wear clothes of wool and linen woven together." (Self explanatory)

Hebrews 13:4, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous." (No adultery allowed)

Exodus 35:2, "Six days work shall be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the Lord. Whoever does any work on it shall be put to death." (You'll be put to death if you work on Sunday)

Now, I'm not saying that the Bible is a credible source for what we should be doing today buuuuuut...

Just saying. I'm not against nor for it so please don't bash me. We are all humans, but this is what God says about gays. Leviticus 18:22

Leviticus 11:10, "But anything in the seas or the rivers that has not fins and scales, of the swarming creatures in the waters and of the living creatures that are in the waters, is detestable to you." (Not allowed to eat shellfish)

Those are talking about the foods God tells us not to eat, and has nothing to do with this topic

Deuteronomy 22:11, "Do not wear clothes of wool and linen woven together." (Self explanatory)

This is talking about how we should not wear clothes of wool (Jeans, shorts, basic clothes made out of cotton) and linen woven together (Clothes that aren't tight and like what the Angels wear) So basically God wants us to wear clothes like Angels and not the new style of clothing

Hebrews 13:4, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous." (No adultery allowed)

God's talking about marriage for all (Man and woman) and the adulterous would be the gays, cheaters, and sinners.

Exodus 35:2, "Six days work shall be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the Lord. Whoever does any work on it shall be put to death." (You'll be put to death if you work on Sunday)

God's not talking about putting you to death for working on Sunday. Back in the day to be put to death meant be punished. Also Sunday is another word for Sun in which the Sun is symbolic for God or the most Highest, or Horus in Egypt, Hellios in Greek, etc. Sunday is a day to worship God. That's why people go to Church on this day.

So yea this is God's word not mine, so please no hate or bashing please. Thanks have a great day :)

I have so, so many ways I could respond to this, and every single one of them would incite a flamewar.

  • Haha good luck trying to go against God's word. The truth hurts so you want to try to go against it by creating your own translations of the word.

lol this is tell tale games not a chatline. and strawman at the end much?

  • it's not a made up word:

A straw man is a common type of argument and is an informal fallacy based on the misrepresentation of an opponent's argument.[1] To be successful, a straw man argument requires that the audience be ignorant or uninformed of the original argument.

The so-called typical "attacking a straw man" argument creates the illusion of having completely refuted or defeated an opponent's proposition by covertly replacing it with a different proposition (i.e., "stand up a straw man") and then to refute or defeat that false argument ("knock down a straw man") instead of the original proposition.[
