Could they've become friends?
In almost all my games, I had Lee support Kenny.
Only in one game, I did not have Lee help Kenny kill Larry.
As a result, he was bitter and angry towards Lee.
( I did this, just to see what would happen.)
However, I did not have Lee return his anger.
I had Lee still demonstrate peace and good will toward him.
When it came to the idea of whether or not to abandons the motor-inn, I had Lee agree with him.
When it came to kicking Lilly out, I had Lee agree with him, largely cause I was never able to forgive her after she shot Carly.
When it came to the boat, I had Lee go along with it.
When it came to Duck, I had Lee volunteer to euthanize him, so as to spare Kenny that pain.
To make a long story short, I pretty much had Lee agree with him on nearly everything, except for the Larry incident.
As well as greatly consoling and supporting Kenny, after the death of his family.
Though I did have to have Lee reason with Kenny, when Clementine went missing, he did come.
When the group was stuck in the attic, Kenny's attitude had softened greatly toward Lee.
He seemed to no longer view Lee as the enemy.
I had Lee apologise to Kenny, for hurting Kenny in any way, to which Kenny reciprocated, and I had Lee share a drink with him.
My point is, if Lee had survived to Season 2, and reunited with Kenny, despite their 1 disagreement, if Lee continued to treat Kenny with kindness and whatnot, I think the two would've become friends.
What are your thoughts on it?

Maybe, it would all vary on what Kenny's actions were.

If Lee and Kenny didn't get along in Season One, I don't think they would be friends in the second season or maybe they would move on.
My explanation is that they may have had some bonding moments, but that doesn't make them friends. Like how Kenny still refused to travel with Lee even though Clementine had been taken. But then again maybe they would have put the past in the past and move on with their lives and try to forget about it.
I'm not really sure how their friendship would have continued in S2 but it would be interesting to see.
