How Long For 3rd Gen?
How long do you think they will be making PS3 games for? I really want to ask this question because I hope, even though it may never happen, that Telltale Games would keep making their games for 3rd gen as well, it would suck if people who can't afford or dislike the new generation consoles to have to buy them in order to continue playing the series, but alas that is every game series, I just want to know how long everyone thinks it will be until the fall of the 3rd generation of gaming consoles, I personally think that the PlayStation 3 is better than the PlayStation 4 but this is probably only because the PS4 requires full installation and takes up more space for each game than the PS3, what are your thoughts?

This year and part of next year will be the final games on ps3/Xbox 360. Most people have a next gen console or PC by now :P

Many of us do have the new gen consoles but it feels like everywhere I go people still prefer 3rd gen consoles
Well the last PlayStation 2 game came out this year, so there is a possibility of the PS3 running for quite a while...
Most do not have a new console yet. According to gamefaqs polls anyways lol.
Ps3 is 7th gen...3rd gen was NES/Master system.
I hope the ps3 last a little bit longer. I really oppose paying for online especially with sony, considering in the last year psn has been hacked twice.

Technically it is true that the PS3 is the third generation of PS.
Maybe soon. Game of Thrones has already confirmed to be a multi-season project, so it would be smart for them to start making it on next gen and PC/Mac and iOS only because of the choices. But then again, the majority of gamers don't even own a next gen console so doing it this early could be suicide for Telltale as well.
I do enjoy older games. One of my favorite games of all time is Earthbound and I'm currently playing war craft 2 tides of Darkness.

I think PS3 games will still be around for at least another year or so.
I'm more than confident it'll still be around for more than one year, especially in Japan, where they are still developing games for the PSP. If I remember correctly, the very last PS2 game came out I think this year or last year. Basically, as long as the install base is high and there's a demand for more PS3 games, developers will keep producing them on the system.
It is an old joke that PS3 has only interactive movies to play.
