Shouldn't there be more animals?
I think the only animals in the The Walking Dead world were crows, Maybelle the cow, Sam the dog, a moth, and a racoon family.
Shouldn't there be more sightings of animals in the wild? Like deer, bears, wolves, rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks, varieties of birds, badgers, beavers, flies, mosquitoes, and bees? Just to name a few.

Well now that walker's own the Earth, they probably ate a lot animals (In urban area's) in the last two years. So we probably won't see that many.
We've seen in the T.V. show and game that they can. Sort of unrealistic, because like you said, they're too slow.
But walkers are too slow to catch animals...
There was some another dog that appeared besides Sam.
Remember this scene when Shel finds the walker eating a puppy?
I'm guessing most animals end up like this puppy, therefore explaining the lack of animals
Oh right. I forgot about the puppy in 400 days. Where did that walker even find a puppy?
I believe it sneaked in through the barricade they had surrounding their community. If Becca is able to sneak in and out of there without anyone knowing, I'm sure small animals would be able to as well.
Most of domesticated animals are probably stray or feral by now on. And the forest ones weren't exacly sociable at the first place.
There's also the rabbit the walker was eating in the beginning of episode 2 season 1
You forgot about Fivel's dead dog that he was buried with.
I think his name was Walter.
There's no logical reason. Just like there should be more child zombies and more female zombies.
Where are the newborn zombies
I've always wondered if there could be un dead animals. The ones in the game get killed or are eaten alive before they reanimate
A walker was eating a rabbit in episode 2 of season 1.
I like how you added the moth on that list.
And remember, humans are hunting them a lot too now, as seen in Starved for Help. I'd imagine deer would be hunted 3 times as much than now.
No because
The entire cast are animals, do people know that we're all animals?
I think that the lack of preservation possibilities and the huge decrease in the human population would make the amount of deer hunted, at best, equal to what it is now.
outside of humans, what's the demographic of animals in Georgia, the Carolinas, the Virginias, DC? In huge swarms of walkers, I doubt deer or antelope would survive. Maybe smaller animals would have a chance (they are usually quicker). Bears could possibly die if they get caught while hibernating.
