Ideas on how to improve the feed on here

Hey, I wanted to put this idea out here. The feed isn't bad, but also not especially great. Keep in mind these are only minor improvements, but I think they would make it better.

  1. Spoiler Tags for the feed: A spoiler tag in a thread is good and all, but what if I don't want to be spoiled and are the OP (or generally replied to with a spoiler)? Well, that would suck. Because the text of the spoiler tag is still shown without it. Meaning critical plot points can be spoiled, even if accidently, fairly quick.

My point would be that someone could probably take care of that, and it would imo help. If that isn't possible, maybe we can still get the option to

  1. Delete Feed entries: An option to basically delete all of those notifications. That might come along with all these threads you follow and all.

I also have a general problem with the feed, that I know some people on here also have. It isn't a big thing, really, but kind of weird. As you know, in the top of the right corner, there is this number that shows how many nee notifications you have.

It would usually go like this:

No notifications: 0

1 notification: 1

...

For me however, the number is stuck at 17 now (it conconstantly rose over time).

Meaning for me it's like this:

17 notifications: 0

18 notifications: 1

...

It's kind of weird. Maybe that can be taken care of eventually.

    I think further down the line, some improvements might be coming to the notification system. Speaking from my own experience (as a volunteer mod) and nothing official, past experience shows that it generally takes a while for notable web updates, though.

    I would like a separate tab for messages.

    I wish to look back to see past conversations in PM but it's always buried under tons of other stuff.

    1. A catch-up button that marks all notifications as seen, even if you haven't seen them, so you're reset to zero.
    2. Separate out PM discussions from the rest of the feed. If I want to find a PM I received two weeks ago, it should be easy.
    3. Allow suppression of certain classes of events. For example, I don't care about all the events saying there was activity in a thread I posted in. For others, that might be important information. Keep it for them, and allow me to turn them off for myself.
