What's Up?

The FPS thing really drove me away from Borderlands after a generation of CoD, Halo, Battlefield, and other things I really don't care about.

    I trust Telltale though.

But yeah, Big Hero 6 was great. Go see it.

I was just messing with ya. I was joking with the whole AA thing. I want to see that but...You know November is broke-ember. Borderlands has a great story over looked because of the FPS part.

  • I can't wait for next week, it's when it's being released.

  • I'm hearing good things about it.

  • Yup, so hyped.

  • Exactly. A smaller albeit still large fan base of children watches. Some do see it as a disease, but not in the same way a girl can be born blind. Most who see homosexuality as a disease / disability believe it is one of choice, not circumstance as is blindness (this isn't taking into account the people who don't view it as such and still don't want their children to be exposed to the topic yet, which I have no doubt is another large minority or perhaps even small majority, though I can't say for certain). Are you expecting Nickelodeon to go against a large minority, when it's just as easy for them to stick to the status quo and appease both majority and minority, while not catering to the smaller minority who desperately want to see the situation pan out? I don't. When it comes down to it I don't know the two (Brian and Myke) personally so I can't say if they would be pro or con on the homosexuality scene, but it wouldn't come down to their decision. Final ruling on the matter would be carried out by the penny pinchers at Nick. (DISCLAIMER: I am not saying any of the above views on homosexuality are correct or the ones I hold.)

ATLA appealed more to the adult demographic than the new series does. It treaded on more real and sinister ordeals, specifically Katara and Zuko come to mind.

You see her air being sucked away, but nothing else. Afterwards it repeates things like "She has been dethroned. She is no longer in power. She is absent." (paraphrased) and the like. It doesn't say she is dead because, for the children, she doesn't have to be dead. She just isn't there anymore. As I said, I'm not saying it isn't dark. Korra's torture (physical, emotional, mental) was by far the worst. It may have even been momentarily worse than any other situation in the original and new series altogether.

I'm not arguing it would be better to stick to the safe route or to fulfill the Korrasami ship. I'm saying when you look at it from the perspective of the company trying to make money off of it it's unlikely they will take the rougher and likely less bountiful path. Therefore it's unlikely they will do it.

By putting it online, a much smaller albeit still large fanbase watches. I totally get the whole parent wanting to shield their child thing.

  • While you pray for Korrasami, I'm just here praying every night that Opal and Bolin don't break up in the next episode (after every episode since book 4 episode 1)

  • The TTG forum is a 10/10 to me. And thank you about my profile picture. :) I always pictured Bloody Mary being a sort of mentor to Clementine if she were to encounter her. :)

  • I can't expect Nickelodeon to do anything that wouldn't reign in more money for them. It's just the way the world works. Sad but true I guess. Money money money...It's a rich man's world.

I do agree that A:TLA did focus on more adult themes within the characters internal struggles. Specifically revenge, something both Zuko and Katara dealt with. Besides Korra and somewhat Asami with her father, we don't really see anyone else go through dilemmas of this magnitude in LOK. Bolin is just a token comic relief character until Book 3. The most interesting part about Mako are the women he dated and the people around him.

I've always believed the show was meant for people of all ages and audiences. It's mix of humor, interesting characters (both good and bad), future technology, political issues, mature themes, etc. It's just a whole package. You're right. It does appeal to kids. And looking at it from a financial view, it would make more sense for Nickelodeon to take the safe route. I'm just saying that there is a legitimate population who believe that Korrasami is the best ending for both Korra and Asami. And like those who believe she is best single or even with Mako, I will believe in it to the end.

  • Hey there. I guess my favorite games of all time would have to be Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix+ (soon to be 2.5 Remix Edition), KOTOR, Tales of Symphonia, Persona 4 Golden, and Final Fantasy IX & X. The games I'm currently anticipating at the moment are Dragon Age Inquisition, Little Big Planet 3, Poke'mon Omega Ruby, Persona Q, and like I mentioned before, Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix. I can't really say what my favorite show is since I don't really have one. I pretty much just watch anything that I find interesting and if I like it, I like it. :) Movies are kinda the same way, my "favorite" movie changes all the time depending on my mood and if I just feel like watching it at the moment.

  • Hi Genesis. Nice to see someone else who loves Kingdom Hearts 2. You seem like a very chill "go with the flow" kind of person and I think that's cool.
