The Top 5 Worst Deaths
By this I mean lackluster or unneeded
- Nick
- Sarah
- Carley/Doug(The shock and the way it was handled was brilliant, but it should have been another character)
- Luke
- Pete(It was handled well, but he should have been able to cut the leg off at least.)
Bonus:
Mark(The reveal was brilliant, but he should have lasted longer.)
Chuck(It wasn't horrible, but he should have died one of two ways in No Time Left. He could die at the Morgue holding off the walkers from getting in if you brought him with you. If you didn't, he will be killed during during the house invasion buying time for everyone to get into the attic.)
Reggie(Should have been Determinant)
Walter(Should have been Determinant and killed in the Shootout in Episode 5)

The only death I have any complaints about.

Christa (If dead)
I liked Luke's death. I think it was somber, shocking, and made you feel hopeless. And Luke is one of my favorite characters. His death was just so well handled. Here's my actual top 5:
Mark (I just felt he could have done so much more. You'll notice most of my list is deaths that felt empty, and too early. I'm fine with an early death, as long as it felt it had weight.)
Bonnie (This is the only exception to the previously stated rule. She just died, you didn't see it, nobody was effected by it, and nobody mentioned her again.)
Carlos (Not really too early, but he felt like he could have done so much more, and felt meaningless. and again, nobody ever references it again, other than Sarah, who's death I wasn't a fan of, but I got why it happened, what it effected, and it felt it had so much weight.)
Nick (Yeah, I'm in the same boat as most people, but not for the same reason. Everyone bitches that it was offscreen, and he deserved to go out in a hail of gunfire, like a proud champion, saying his last dying goodbyes to his friends with a smile on his face, no, my issue was just Luke's reaction. He barely thought anything of it, in fact, Rebecca cared more!)
Reggie (Too early. Meaningless. Fits the build perfectly. Why isn't it higher? Because it was a wake up call for Bonnie, so at least it had a little meaning to it.)
The victims of Omid The Ruins:

Thanks, we´re all having a miserable stay.

Duck was silent as well, and even though he was Kenny's child, he was just that; A Child. I preferred to be silent when sick, so I can relate somewhat.
I though all the deaths you listed were not the worst.
(5.) Carver: His entire death was just a prop to set up how "badass" Kenny was. In fact, this death was disgustingly handled. Instead of Clementine showing development, let's make her a passive participant to show how "cool" Kenny is and never mention it again. 'Cause fuck consequence to actions. Just... terrible.
(4.) Reggie: Again, just a prop to flagrantly show how evil Carver was and remove all interesting personality from him as a character. And, again, Clementine just stands by and watches as Reggie is slung off a roof and killed because the plot has to progress somehow.
(3.) Sarah: I am quite conflicted on her demise. It could have been a genuinely shocking moment. To see first hand how much you've lost throughout your short time in the world. But, instead just have her die a particularly bitter death just because we need more "shock-value" in our game to further separate ourselves from our Sam & Max days. Have her die while, fucking again, Clementine just stands idly by and watch. We can't have Clementine be too active in very important crucial scenes.
(2.) Kenny/Jane: What a horribly handled final conflict to shoehorn the player into. Whoever you chose, you lose. Both deaths are boring, sloppy, and completely uninteresting. [Shoot Kenny] gives a long speech trying to humanize a man who wasn't above violently disfiguring another man in front of an eleven year old for personal vendetta. [Let's Kenny stab Jane] breaks character arc and starts showing remorse for the act of killing, an act he's performed more than once. Again trying too hard to make Kenny seem like a selfless arbiter and making Jane seem horrible for doing an act that wasn't necessary and just overall dumb. Too much character breaking for me.
(1.) Sam: Why did the dog have to die just after being introduced?
[Offers you one of Bigby's 'Huff 'n' Puffs']
[I Never get one]
Well, it's probably a shit brand anyway. [Spreads Rumor]
Now everyone but Bigby and Georgie like them.
I have a really strong feeling that Christa is alive and that we'll see her Season 3.
We better fucking see her.
Well, actually, I'm pretty sure he knew he was going to die. I don't think he wanted to go out like a pussy more than sticking to his beliefs and preaching whatever bullshit he could come up with.
Also, for Sarah's, it used to boggle me that she was on the deck and not with Kenny and Rebecca, then it hit me.
Sarah was most likely scared to shit by Kenny. Especially knowing that he bashed the shit out of Carver's face with a crowbar, and then that walker with his crowbar again. If I were her, I'd of pissed myself right then and there.
Preaching? What do you mean? I agree that he didn't want to go out like a pussy. He had been trying to win Clem over to his beliefs, to watch him die.
She would understandably be scared of Kenny. Anyone who has much of their innocence would after that.
Actually, Clementine runs up to the both of them but Reggie is thrown off by the time she makes it.
Just for the bite and to make everyone cry.
Preaching, you know, rambling on about sheeps and pens.
Ohhhhhhh. "Lambs to the slaughter." Fuck Carver and Fuck Wall Street.
In a way, I understood what he meant, by my humanity got in the way of that.
Mine too. Well, I put it aside for the exquisite crowbar. Other than that, I ignored General William.
Appreciated!
[Lights Huff n Puff]
If I were Kenny, I'd have whacked him in the face long before he could get through a proper sentence. But that wouldn't be as dramatic.
And I actually like that justification of yours for why Sarah put herself in a dangerous spot, even though we know the real reason. Too bad she never says that she's scared of thick-skulled Kenneth. I guess this is just us, once again, doing the writers' work for them of filling in gaps and elaborating on characterizations.

I've never seen that funny cartoon. Who is he.
