Bully: Scholarship Edition PC

Anyone had issues with this game on PC? I bought it recently on Steam but I cant play it. Every time I go to start the game, it says that a problem has caused the program to shut down. I've tried using compatibility mode on it, but, to no avail. I use Windows 8.1. Perhaps its just doesn't work on that platform?

  • I'm not sure, I know Rockstar games makes terrible ports for their games. It may not even be your PC, but I'll look around for some answers.

  • Yeah, a lot of people have had the same sorta problem. And thanks.

  • Are you downloading another game from steam?, that sometimes causes the game to shut down.

  • Hmmm,i found this at a steam forum, maybe it's your sound settings

If your game crashes at startup, and seems to be an issue regarding an audio driver, you must set the audio output at 24bit 48000 khz and then the game will work!

How the hell do I do that? And I dont know if its to do with the audio driver, because the sound works fine.

Honestly...i don't know i just found that on steam's forum XD, but i think it's the operative system, from what i just read Bully works better on Vista.

  • Yeah it was made for XP and Vista. Some people I have seen on the forums have managed to play it. I dunno how though. They dont fucking give any solutions! Sorry I'm just angry because a lot of people just wont offer any help whatsoever, and if they do, its vague or its something thats been tried before.

  • I don't know, I haven't tried to install it in my current PC which is Windows 8.1 but it worked well enough in my old XP computer, then again it was designed for XP, however I really hope you have a joystick because the Keyboard and Mouse controls were pretty bad.

  • I wish I knew. Thanks for the link, but as I said in my original post, I already tried using compatibility mode. I cant figure it out so I have given up.
