Is it possible to keep the sword?

As the title says, is there anyway to keep Lord Forrester's sword?

When asked by Lady Forrester what her husband said, you get the choices:

Tell her about North Grove
Return the Sword
That he loved her

If you pick the 3rd option, do you get to keep the weapon?
Would be a nice weapon to have at the Wall.

    No, Lady Forrester will see that Gared has the Forrester sword and he will return it.

    Its the house sword of your leige lord. I wouldnt keep it even if they allowed it.

    I tried my best to keep it but its not possible. I would have loved to go to the wall with a valyrian steel sword...

    I dont think the Forrester sword is Valyrian steel. Valyrian steel is so dark a grey it looks almost black.

    Yes, it is a grey so dark its almost black, ( as stated in the novels ) with noticable folds from the forging
