A Look Into 2015: Cinema
It's still 2014 if you are reading this in America or Western Europe at the time of posting. 2015 offers much in entertainment for your eyes in the form of beyond - Films.
Due to the size of the posters, I will only post 1: from my most anticipated film lis:
I for one welcome our new Disney overlords. They've already won the box office. Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Avengers: Age of Ultron already them over a billion dollars. That's not all. They have Cinderella, Tomorrowland, Inside Out, Ant-Man, the Good Dinosaur and the Jungle Book among others.
However it is not one box office to rule them all - other legitimate cinema exists - Spongebob: Sponge Out of Water, Fifty Shades of Grey, Kingsman: The Secret Service, Insurgent, Pitch Perfect 2, Ted 2, Minions, The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, and Hotel Transylvania 2 are a few of the many,
As Yoda said "No, there is another." Another blockbuster he mean't. Furious 7, Mad Max: Fury Road, Terminator: Genisys, The Fantastic Four, Spectre, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, Mission Impossible V.
But what do you a film that is above the rest of its fellow blockbusters but not the supreme? You call it this:
What about you? What is your most anticipated film of 2015?

Lot's of stuff
Star Wars Episode VII. I so cannot wait for that. I'm sure its gonna be better than the prequels.
Jurassic World
Terminator: Genysis
My heart is racing, I'm excited for most of the things you've mentioned!
I'd have to say Star Wars Episode VII, although I kinda wanna see SpongeBob the movie 2, don't judge me ;-;
...
I wouldn't say that, Disney is doing what allot of movie sequel companies don't do, which is go back to the source and roots of the original films, Disney has proven they can make great movies with Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier, although that's Marvel, we have yet to see what Disney can do with Star Wars.
...
Disney is going to milk Star Wars of course, I wasn't very fond of the idea myself at first but seeing as how since Disney had taken over Marvel, it's had so many successes, some of the rights have been bought back and about 50 movies were confirmed to be in production(at least that's what I read), I'm just saying that Star Wars Episode 7 could be just as good as the rest but we won't really know until we see it, it sucks that it's going to be released in December though :x
...
Not for the movie hungry fandom.
...
...
DC Universe I suppose, Disney will soon take over the movie franchise as they're slowly taking over the gaming franchise.
All new Star Wars movies will be released in December I think.
The trilogy and a bunch of spin-off movies - the most closest spin-off is rumored to be a Death Star heist movie.
So basically a long list of sequels to popular franchises rather than actually coming up with any new.
And they're already up to Fast and Furious 7? I know it doesn't a lot of effort to come up with the screenplay, but jeez.
...
I'm really looking forward to all the creative, original, thought-provoking content.
Oh, wait...
...
That's cause they're a movie series, literally the majority of the fandom consistently ask for sequels so why not give them sequels? It's not like sequels are bad, it doesn't matter if it's not creative the way you like it to be, it's still the same story but an extension to it.
...
Hence your name but I'm giving things a chance, I already know how it feels like to be an idiot who comes to conclusions and says something sucks before I even experience it, Star Wars might not need sequels but that doesn't mean it can't have it, there's so many things in Star Wars that can be expanded, I remember when people said the same for the Toy Story movie but each movie was better than the last, I remember people saying that same with The Hobbit as well but it turned out great.
Yeah mainly cause they want to know what happens next, it's the anticipation of not knowing. I personally hope Final Destination 6 comes out soon
...
...
Well we won't know until we find out but always give things a chance for you'll never really know whether you hate it or not until then.
...
"mainly cause they want to know what happens next,"
Well, you see, back in the day, they would contain a story in a single movie, rather than having a cliffhanger referring to the continuation/sequel/crossover.
Actually not all movies did as such back in the day, there were just fewer that did so. Also, not every movie that gets a sequel/continuation/crossover has a cliffhanger, in fact the majority do not.
Hollywood - Where milking cash gets you stash.
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm psyched about Tomorrowland. Why? Because I love Brad Bird. He made The Incredibles and the Iron Giant, one of my all time favorite movies.
I'll probably see the new Spongebob Movie too. But chances are it's gonna suck.
Um.....
Takes place after the OT.
That is no longer canon my friend
FUCK DISNEY.
Sigh Dammit Disney.....
I know, I'm half-joking because you said "mainly because they want to know what happens next," when it comes to wanting sequels.
Though there is a difference between then and now; usually back in the day, a cliffhanger was meant to be a cliffhanger, to give the audience a sense of excited anxiousness and something to talk about, not procluding the possiblity of a sequel but not expecting one either. Plenty of movies had cliffhangers but no sequels, plenty of films with sequels finished out the story in each installment. Nowadays, in the case of major productions, the sequel is oftentimes greenlit before the first one premieres (as with the last Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). Avengers 4 is already planned out, there are plans for a Fantastic Four reboot in 2015 and a sequel in 2017.
In short, it's not a cliffhanger anymore, it's a trailer.
There's still nothing wrong with that, if a sequel ends up being better than the original the majority are usually happy, there's nothing wrong with sequels unless they're really bad.
Of course it isn't canon.........and probably never was. Just saying there was room for more stories after the OT
I'm not complaining about sequels per se, I'm complaining about how dominated the market is by a single genre (action, and especially superhero action), and when you consider market availability (screentime) it leads to a lot of other (see original) films being squeezed out. I could be wrong, but I don't think VOD markets are as advanced in the United States, and that leads to a lot of filmmakers have little to no ability to have their film even seen. And it's not because they aren't any good, it's because they're being sqeezed out. Obviously market forces (namely popularity) are a factor, and I'm not expecting a complete elimination of blockbusters, or sequels (that wouldn't be good either), I just wish there were more room for new ideas and creativity. As successful as it is, I've never believed in appealing to the lowest common denominator.
