Avid Comic Book Reader's Question

I was looking to order Saga #25 and I noticed that the series takes about a 4 month sabbatical after every 6 issues. Is this standard now for a lot of comics these days? Are they just not making enough from individual issues that they depend on volume editions to make money? Is it just this series or an Image thing? Just curious because I've been reading different comics/graphic novels recently.

There was a period when Issues were a Year apart. But yes depending on the series circumstances and Author it usually takes a couple months between Issues.
