The game is a canonical prequel to the Fables comics. It was designed so that EVERY possible decision you make could've happened before the events of Fables...
As for Season 2, nothing has been confirmed... TellTale have said absolutely nothing on the subject since Ep. 5 was released last year in July; some are losing hope while others are annoyed at the lack of information. A simple Yes or No to a 2nd Season would be something to go on at least
