Spec OPS: The line
have you people try this game yet ????
i know you all will think its a game like cod but no its not and yeah gameplay is not as good but man this game got me with his story and choices......
starting is slow but then game become strong really strong with its story.....
The vast majority of modern video games are built around murder. From the gritty post-apocalypse of “Gears of War” to the bright, grassy plains of ‘Super Mario Bros,” there’s always some enemy standing in the way of the player’s goal, and more often than not, that enemy isn’t going to last very long. Why would it? The hero has to save the world, and the player needs to guide them there; there is no time to question the morality of killing a program made up of ones and zeroes. That’s how video games work, have always worked and always will work.
With this in mind, the existence of a game like “Spec Ops: The Line” seems like a contradiction. It’s a game that builds itself around having the player kill hundreds of enemies while condemning everything it has the player do. It’s a game that despises the likes of “Call of Duty” and “Gears of War” with a burning passion while marketing and designing itself as a rip-off of both of the above. By all accounts, it’s a game that most would expect to be a terrible anti-war propaganda game.
Which is why it still blows my mind that it is not only a fantastic game in its own right, but also succeeds in absolutely everything it tries to do. Atmospheric, dark and beautiful in all the wrong ways, “Spec Ops: The Line” is an underappreciated classic that deserved more attention and praise than it ever got.

One of the most underrated games of all time.
It is a fantastic deconstruction of FPS games and it is a shame it was overshadowed by hot garbage like Call of Duty or Battlefield.
yup very true many people should try it but i guess everybody gonna ignore it
It was interesting and I liked it a lot but considering it was meant to be a jab at Call of Duty style games it kinda makes sense that it was overshadowed, still I'd recommend it to everybody in fact I've already done that at work.
The game was ingenious.
This loading screen still stands out as being one of the most surreal things ever put in a video game.
it was an awesome game i even recommended to my friends but when they saw the trailer they just dont want to play it but anyway i had fun and i want to recommended to everyone here
i loved everything about this game and the shocking part too when i was like what the f have i done it make me feel guilty but i wanted that type of game it was awesome experience
I cannot urge people enough to go and get this game. Brilliantly done. Man did I know nothing about this game the first time through, thought it was another typical shooter, but I was so wrong (actually i'm glad I did know nothing cause them plot twists).
All I knew was that it was loosely based off of my favorite film of all time, Apocalypse Now. I knew at that point I had to have it, and jeez was it a ride.
This shit never bothered me.
PTSD 4 THE WIN.
Spec ops the Line is one of the best shooters I have played in a long time. The story is gripping and the plot twist is worth wild.
neither am i... i just wanted to play a game of 2k publisher who also publish borderlands 2 and man i am glad i play this game...:D just hopin my frnd will give it a try..
well i havent watched apocalypse now so i am gonna give it a try
well its sure a shooter game but a diffrent one well i dont like gameplay that much but story just blow my mind and beautiful dubai too i played 3 times afterward :P
Talk about fourth wall break... Its awesome!
play a deadpool game he broke all the fourth wall in gaming and quite funny too :P
You will not regret it, just watch the original version. It's leagues better than the Redux version.
ohhk its from 1979?? old but still gonna watch it anyway thanks
It's not actually what you might be thinking, it's got action segments that'd put Michael Bay to shame. Complete with real pyrotechnics, authentic military vehicles and weaponry, and overall beautiful cinematography.
It IS a bit long however. I think the exact time is 2:46:00 or something along those lines. But you'll definitely see similarities between Spec Ops and Apocalypse Now once you check it out.
well 3 hour movie still less than lord of the rings :P ok i will try it
Great narrative about the reality of war!
However, it was a mediocre game gameplay wise.
Yup spec ops won a best narrative award that year (not on vgx)
Little late for a reply but actually I thought the gameplay was also pretty solid and that most people that played it didn't give it enough credit by claiming it was generic, the limited bullets you can carry (If you have a preferred gun) force you to have to do Melee and executions which is fairly risky but they give you extra bullets, it's gamey but it helps make the drive the plot point about you being way too brutal, I thought it was an excellent way of turning you into a brutal psychopathic killing machine by adding such a simple risk/reward mechanic that also made the seemingly standard shoot-outs stand out even more by forcing you out of cover, all around great design and I've never heard any reviewers mention this which is weird as I thought that one of the games greatest accomplishments.
