Who sent Malcolm ?

Hi . In your playthrough what did Malcolm say to Asher ? did he said Ethan sent him or Asher's mother ?
I ask because my game had save problems and a couple of choices were altered(e.g my sentinel was alright but my Ethan was wise) . As Ethan I allowed Malcolm to go but in ep2 Malcolm told Asher that her mother had sent him . Is this another save problem for me ?

    It's probably another save problem, yes. If you allow Malcolm to go, he'll tell Asher Ethan sent him.
