Your Favorite FPS Series?

My favorite first person shooter series has to be Fallout or Half Life. I cherish both NV and HL2 have special places in my heart.

  • Multiplayer is my favorite part of the game, aside from the newer updates in Halo 4.

    Half-Life series

    Team Fortress 2

    Left 4 Dead series

    Counter Strike series

    Bioshock series

And that's it. Needless to say, I love Valve.

  • The Bioshock games

  • I'm not really a huge fan of FPS games, but, I really liked Bioshock Infinite.

  • Borderlands series (though I figure those are also RPGs) and Battlefield.

  • We all love Valve

i dont really play FPS, but when i do it has been Far Cry 3, yet to really play 4 started but didnt do much. and COD, i know... i have Borderlands 2 but havent played it. and well i loved L4D but they got boring after playing it for quite a while. i really need to play fallout i just hear great shit about it

  • Most FPS games are just that games. Fallout is an experience. Its universe and characters have so much depth

  • 1 And 2 are pretty old but of classic games are your thing you would enjoy it but I feel 3 and New Vegas are the more current rendition of the series and really depict the aftermath of what a nuclear bombing would be if there were any survivors. Get ready for hours of enjoyment :)

Usually, I can't stand FPS games, because I find them to be boring, repetitive and short. However, I absolutely adore Bioshock Infinite and (even if it's actually a first person-puzzle) Portal 2.

  • Fallout isn't an FPS series.

And my vote goes to Half-Life. It shits on all other FPS series in terms of mechanics, general game design, and lore.

Shame Perfect Dark got such terrible sequels as I thought Rare struck gold with the first installment on N64.

  • 100% yes. :)

  • I guess it would be Halo, even though I haven't played it in over 6 years.

  • Uh its the best first person shooter that can be in third person -

  • Bioshock

Not really a fan of FPS games as they're usually very generic and uninspiring, but Bioshock isn't anything like that. :D

  • CoD, I'll be 720 NO ScOPinG dem n00bs 24/7...

Not really, Bioshock and Battlefield are my favourite FPS :)

    HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALO!

    ....and Red Orchestra 2

  • TimeSplitters, it's basically Goldeneye except that since it's about time travel there are lot of interesting cool settings including a western, a Star Trek style crashed ship, 1930s Chicago, a cyberpunk Blade Runner style NeoTokyo and many more, the weapons are pretty creative and the games have a fantastic sense of humour, specially the third one, shame that Crytek isn't interested in doing anything with it despite buying the franchise and it's developer.

  • Fallout is a role-playing game. Borderlands is a loot'em-up. Get it right!

The first games that come to mind are Team Fortress 2, Far Cry Blood Dragon, Half-Life and Postal 2.

TimeSplitters definitely. One of my most memorable and most enjoyed franchises.

    If only...

  • Halo, COD, Battlefield and Far cry 3 and 4.

  • Team Fortress 2, and Counter-Strike are old favorites in terms of multiplayer. I'm a hot-cold fan when it comes to Halo, CoD and Battlefield.

As far as story-driven FPS's go, Bioshock and Borderlands come to mind. Brothers In Arms is also a great and underrated series. I love Fallout, but I'd consider an RPG rather than a shooter.

  • I grew up on Halo. Played the Campaigns god knows how many times since I didn't have an internet connection and online matchmaking wasn't really a thing back then. Lately the Halo's that have been coming out have got me disinterested, but I do have my hopes for the next stuff to be better.

  • OLDIES

Doom 2. You fight the legions of Hell as a space marine... with the greatest shotgun in the history of games.

Duke Nukem 3d. "Shake it baby."

Half-Life. I've been playing Half-Life since I was walking. Fair to say the original is still one of my favorite games of all time.

Timesplitters 2. Um, you can play as a monkey slinging bricks at dinosaurs while a cyborg is firing tommy guns at nurses in a Chinese restaurant. I'm not fucking joking either.

    MODERN

Postal 2 Super fun time with cat silencers!

Left 4 Dead 2 Greatest. Zombie. Game. Ever. (Sorry TWD)

Fallout: New Vegas Why Bethesda? Why'd you make a game that continues to suck all my time away even after all this time?

  • damn nice. not sure i can spend hours of it though lol goddamn school
