Which should come first as a TV Series: Fables or TWAU?

If both were being made into TV Shows (let's imagine that they are as true as possible to the source material like TWD and GOT) Which one should come first?

Fables would reveal things gradually, but TWAU kinda throws us into the fray. On the contrary, TWAU is before Fables in some ways...

I would like them to mix the 2 together: They should do Fables/TWAU in order of material. So the very first episode or episodes should be 1001 Nights Of Snowfall, followed by whatever comes next in the timeline of Volumes.

  • First of all, TWD TV show does not stay as true as possible to the source material at all. The show and comics are veryyyyy different xD

Secondly, I would think just making a TV series off of FABLES would be the best and not worrying about the whole timeline and all. First episode starts with the first issue and onwards. They can just make spin off TV series off of different spinoff comic issues (or TWAU) if they really wanted to tell that story.

  • Probably Fables TV series should come first. If Season 1 is a success with ratings, then when Season 2 starts, they should start production on TWAU TV series to coincide with Fables Season 2 (since Bigby is still the main character in TWAU, and unlike fables, actors don't get any younger).

  • Depends, if they can include both they could do Wolf first then continue to Fables.

all I know is I want a Tv show basedon Fables more than a movie based on fables

  • TV show would butcher less content than an actual movie would, I guess.

Though with OUAT running, I wonder how ratings will go? (my reaction to OUAT has always been and always will be "meh", but I do know some people who love that show....)

  • I think ive said this before, but once upon a time is such an obvious rip off, that they need to make a show just to reveal how bad it is and how they just copied Fables and neutered it

  • The movie would have to shorten a lot of stuff...

I imagine the film's plot like this:

We start with the events of Volume 1, we skip to the events of Volume 3; while the events of Volume 3 are going on, The Adversary. Geppetto, is in Fabletown (the Fables don't know who the Adversary is) making Wooden Soldiers. Then we go to Volume 4, while Bigby and Cindy investigate the Canada gate, Geppetto unleashes his army to destroy Fabletown.

Bigby and Cindy end up fighting a powerful Fable (say Bloody Mary) Cindy stays behind to fight the Fable while Bigby runs back to Fabletown. He arrives in the nick of time to destroy the last few soldiers and devour Geppetto; he and Snow come to an understanding, movie ends...

Simply cuz I can't imagine this film spawning a popular franchise :/

  • My thought on this is that they do only Fables as a TV Series and have Season 2 include TWAU events as well as events from issue #22 and Fabletown is Forever. Season 1 being based on 1001 Nights of Snowfall without Gepetto's invasion. Season 3 would than be based on the events of Deluxe Volume #1.
