Secret Fawful - it is interesting, looking at whether a game would work or not. And you're right, the original point of this thread is what we'd like to see, not what would work or not. I'll try and let off in future.

    Well, except for...

minime283 - I could see this working. Not too sure what Joss Whedon is up to at the moment, given his statement that he wants to work exclusively in online content (like Dr Horrible), I could potentially see this happening.

Now if it were an adventure game, naturally it would focus away from Brock Sampson and onto the bumbling brothers themselves. The violence factor is also a good point.

Actually, when I think about it, that could work. Although, in my opinion, The Venture Bros (Hank and Dean) are the least interesting characters in the show.

I'd play a game starring Rusty, though.
I thought Pixar was Disney's 3D animation branch. And, uh, woops. Typo. :P

Nooo... Pixar is its own company, bought by Disney, though Disney doesn't really meddle with the creative process. If it was Disney's 3D animation branch, Chicken Little and Meet the Robinsons would've never been made (Actually, I think they shouldn't).

    • Doctor Who - I've said before and I'll (probably) say it again: I think this would work exceptionally well. You can't really do any other kind of game with the character - he's not a gun-toting action hero, so most types of games are out, and he does normally talk his way out of situations, which adventure games are well known for... Plus, if it were done episodically, then there'd be a chance of using different Doctors in each episode. That'd just be awesome. And I'm almost positive that the remaining Doctors (Tom Baker and Christopher Eccleston excepted) would be more then happy to provide voices, not to mention the companions. Why hasn't this been done already, dammit? Do you need me to write up the design specs? 'cause I will. Seriously. I'll go off and do it. Just watch me.
I just wanted to quote this because I like it.

There's an abandoned project by Sylum called Curly's Adventure. The type of humor is very similar to Telltale's, so it would fit if they picked it up. But there are lots of much better known franchises, so there's no real reason for them to do it, and it's more of a dream that real suggestion.

Myst had several sequels, and most of them were great. Riven, the second game in the series, is one of the most fantastic adventure games ever (too hard for today's audience, I suppose, but such an immersive story), and while none of the later sequels were as amazing as Riven, I would say that most of them were as good as Myst.

Obviously, the Myst series has a very different style and presentation from Telltale's games, so I think if Telltale were to team up with Cyan (the Myst people) it'd be smarter for them to make another Myst spin-off rather than a sequel, something that tells a different story in a different way, but within the same universe.

I would definitely buy that for PlayStation 3.

dilbert would actually be a really good one. dogbert for president:D

i also think that deadpool might make a pretty good game. i know, he's a super hero, so fighting might be hard for a point n' click game. but his humor is perfect!

    Oh! How about:

    The A-Team MacGyver Super Team
Our favorite constructors teaming up to take down the forces of evil!

Play as one of the characters each episode!

I know a lot of people complain about the amount of Star Wars games that get made but I always thought a Star Wars adventure game would be awesome, the did it for Indiana Jones.... why not Star Wars too?
  • edited October 2009
i don't know about that. star wars involves a lot of combat. i just don't think it would work out that well.
  • edited October 2009
Indiana Jones has a lot of combat too.... plus the original trilogy didnt have as much fighting as the prequels and they are a ton better... also avoiding fights is sort of the Jedi way...

Ren and Stimpy point and click madness all the way. That would make for an insane adventure experience!!

i guess thats true. plus, you could still use the force in a point n' click game for lots of things. however, i still think that it wouldn't be able to stand up next to the other games star wars games.

    but you never know...

How about a remake of The Secret Of Monkey Island?

As awesome as many of these would be, I sort of hope that Telltale will start creating their own franchises. Puzzle Agent seems to be a step in this direction.

Even that is based on Grikkle or whatever it's called. Personally I'd like to see both because they started with telling stories with other ppl's characters and have proved they can do it well. It'd be a shame to lose that.

The Mighty Boosh - I've never watched it, and having read the Wikipedia page, I don't see how it'd work out as an adventure game. It seems a little too surreal.
    That's not a criticism, that's a challenge!

It seems to be based more on the Professor Layton games, at least gameplay-wise.

I didn't suggest they stop making stuff like Sam & Max or ToMI based on other peoples' characters, I'd just love to see them flex their creative muscles a bit and bring us something original.

To get more into the spirit of the thread though, I'd love to see someone make a good game based on Farscape, though it's probably a bit too serious for TTG to consider.

What about a game featuring Mr. T, Chuck Norris, Adam West, and William Shatner?

    * Day of the Tentacle (Please bring back)

    * Simon the Sorcerer ( is the best Adventure Series right after Monkey Island, but Sylver Style ruined it, should work better with TellTale)

    * Grim Fandango (would be very nice)

    * Futurama (is maybe the best idea, would definately buy it)

    * Leisure Suit Larry ( oh yeah, something for adults ^^)

    * The Feeble Files (yeah, loved it)

    * Zak McKracken ( yeah, my favourite lucas arts games, Zak Mc Cracken, Monkey Island, Sam and Max, and Dott)

    I would also like

    * The X Files (best TV-Show ever, and the last X Files Game for PS2 was some kind of action adventure and worked really nice, point & Click should work, too)

    * The Lone Gunmen

    4209_the_lone_gunmen.jpg

( An X Files Spin Off, Okay, show was cancelled early, had only 13 episodes, so there is no chance, but i love the idea, the amazing humour of the show, and the freakish characters in this kind of comedy/Crime/mystery/sf setting would fit perfect with telltale. ^^)

    TREMORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Surprised no one has mentioned this, especially given the fact that TTG is coming out with two Universal titles in BTTF and JP. I'm a HUGE Tremors fan and have wanted a game for a LONG time. Not sure If it would work as an adventure game, maybe more in the style of Red Dead Redemption.
  • edited November 2010
Tremors was gonna have a game at one time but it was canceled. It's never had the draw to have a video game, much less keep a TV series alive. I love the movies but I can't see it.

I LOVED this game...never beat it though, lol. Back when I was a kid, we got this lucas arts 5 game pack that had MI, Loom, Zak, Indy, and maniac. I got beat MI and Loom and got stuck on the other 3 and never beat them. MI2 then came out and I beat that and never went back to the other games :(

Yeah, I think that a Star Wars adventure game with a Jedi protagonist/player character would work out great. But you'd have to play as a Jedi Consular or a Jedi Sentinel, as they look to avoid violence and combat more than a Jedi Guardian. I personally think that a Jedi Sentinel would work really well for an adventure game, seeing as how they're focused on what skills or equipment they have at their disposal in order to get around situations - which sounds like an ideal adventure game protagonist to me. And I don't see how a little bit of combat will really affect the game in a negative way all that much. I mean, the Indiana Jones games did have a a tiny bit of combat (boxing, punching) in them, from what I've played of it. So why can't a Star Wars game have the same, except with lightsabers instead of fists?

By the way: we have an existing thread on the topic of a Star Wars adventure game for all who wish to discuss.
How about a remake of The Secret Of Monkey Island?

But, what would be the point if LucasArts have already done that? Why would we need two remakes?

I had heard that back in like 04. I saw a couple episodes of the TV series a few years back on some internet streaming site (not Hulu) they have the only season on DVD at blockbuster, so I added it to my que.

As for the game, I have a few ideas that i think could work (of course some of it involved the rumble features on the 360/ps3 controllers) Tell tale just has the get the license and ask for my help :)

I agree with looking for group, but napoleon dynamite? Why would they make a game based on a movie with no plot li... Oh god dammit.

That said, I now want an invader Zim (complete with hidden bloody GIR) or Darkwing Duck adventure game, My love for those have been rekindled

I think Chuck could work well. There's a lot of fighting, but it could be done 303 final puzzle style.

It did kinda have a plot. I just moved forward slowly. I'm sure that could change. I think it would work great, because Napoleon could find a use for any item, and it'd be hilarious.

I actually registered here just so I could post about how awesome a Beavis and Butt-head game would be. With the franchise's impending revival and the fact that despite having mediocre gameplay, the old beavis and butt-head point and click is fondly remembered for its writing (and sold decently well), not to mention the fact that the setting is just awesome for a telltale adventure game.... I just really hope someone at telltale has already tried securing a deal with Mike Judge and MTV. I know I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Venture Bros is also a really cool idea, though I wonder which character you'd play as.
