The Last Of Us Discussion Thread.
What are some of your most favorite moments from the game.
When it came to combat, did you go in guns-blazing, or did you prefer to use stealth?
Do you think there will be a sequel?
And if The Last Of Us was turned into a movie, or TV Show, who do you think should play the main character roles?
I think my most favorite moment of the game, would have to be when Joel grabbed Elle, and carried her out of the hospital.
That was such an emotionally charged scene.
Another part I liked, where we played as Elle, while out hunting.
And I liked the scene at the house between Joel and Elle, when Joel and Tommy had to go look for her.
When it came to combat, I preferred to cut-slash-and run!
In other words, have Joel kill an opponent as soon as possible, preferably with his hands, and then hide before the opponent's buddies showed up.
I think that there will be a sequel.
I sure hope there'll be a sequel!
And if it were turned into a Movie, or TV series, I think that Kurt Russell would be great for the role of Joel.
Kurt Russell can play an average guy really well, who gets thrown into an extraordinary situation.
And he is also great in action roles.
For a great example of this, watch the movie's: Breakdown, Escape from New York, Escape from L.A, and Tombstone.
Yes Kurt is a bit old for the role, but I think he could still pull it off.
Another actor that I think would be good for the role of Joel is, Hugh Jackman.
With Ellen Paige, as Elle.
Aaron Paul, as Tommy.
Willem Dafoe, as David.
And Halle Berry, as Marlene.

ok lets do this...
well my favorite parts in the game were almost all the game. i love the emotional ride it takes you. probably my favorite part is the winter chapter, its just badass. for combat well when i first started i played it on easyand i would still die bcuz i was getting used to the controlers and the well everything(fucking clickers) and then on NG+ i just guns blazed that shit. then on hard it took me a while but i owned, but goddamn grounded.... my god grounded....
and i do think there should BE A SEQUEL!! and i dont mean like some idiots out there that say they want a sequel but with different characters, do they even know wtf sequel means??! and FYI there is going to be a movie. that Masie williams girl might play ellie (ehhh..) for joel i would love hugh jackman or that dude that was on the first season of AHS or josh brolin.
BTW whats your idea if there were to be a sequel??? (anybody else if you would like to pitch in on your ideas) i think they should start right were it ended. then do the intro and then like the opening sequence of the 1st game but maybe show some flash back of what happens during that time that we skip. no i dont want a big time skip, ive heard people say they want ellie to be grown ass woman fuck no thats is stupid. to me any more than a one year time skip is too much. even then i think a year is too much. maybe a couple of months
there i think thats everything:D
My favourite part is nothing because the game was boring and overrated. :^)
then why did comment? if you didnt like it we dont need to hear your, well idk how to put it in English cuz i forgot how to say it but ill say it in spanish. no tenemos que escuchar to pinchi opinion mamona
I agree, that a sequel should pick up where the first game left off.
But other than that, I don't know where the story should go from there.
I guess Joel and Elle could be shown staying with Tommy, and his clan.
And are now involved in an all out war with rival survivors, who are looking to take over the electrical plant.
And in the early part of the game, the electrical part of the game, the electrical plant is overrun.
Joel, Elle, Tommy and his wife, flee.
Months later, they find out that group is actually the fireflies, and that they are still hunting Elle.
So for the whole game, the goal is to escape.
Freedom of speech.
When Ellie kills David hands down. That has to be one of my favourites c: and they're making a TLOU movie! I was hoping Chloe Grace Mortez was going to play Ellie but it turns out Maisie Williams is taking the job.
Sighs Not another one
Where and when did you hear they are making a movie about it?
The last I heard, it was just a rumor.
Freedom of speech, is a good thing in of itself.
But only if there is some moral code behind it.
For example, the press is allowed to report on basically whatever they see fit.
But, it's wrong when they start invading the privacy of others, just for the sake of a story.
Exactly.
Sony said so themselves and tweeted a hint on their casting of Maisie Williams as Ellie.
and was apparently announced at 2014's comic con that Neil Druckmann will be writing the plot for it
I think it's the best game of all time it gets a lot of bad press here mostly because I think it's similar to TWD so most people compare the two so the mentality is always TWD s1 cannot be awesome unless tlou is overrated it must dominate the zombie genre so I say why not both :P
I liked the ending when I heard Ellie was going to be killed I went crazy so many feels you really connected with the character at that point I was devastated so the hospital level was a bloody experience for everyone who stood in my way tbh
I liked the little detail the level after David got killed by ellie and Ellie was so quiet you can clearly see how much it affected her she felt so real you could clearly notice the difference in her at that point the game went to another level of awesome for me there I really wanted to cheer her up and help her get over it so many feels :'/

This scene is a masterpiece
I liked the beginning to when Sarah gets killed the game messed with my head I was so angry the government soldiers who are mean't to protect people killed his daughter it really set the tone of trust no one and everyone is a threat for the rest of the game
I didn't like the game as much as some people, but this scene was probably the best.
yes. i wouldnt call it the GOAT game but it is very awesome.
again if you dont like the game why the fuck are you here???? seriously we dont need your lil snarky ass remarks.
So "because I can" is your reasoning? Well doesn't that make you look like a kid eating all of his Halloween candy in front of his peers and smiling deviously with chocolate fudge dripping from between his teeth.
That was such a fantastic scene! I swear I just sat there like { :O } I was so dumbfounded! Such a powerful moment!
I'm very disappointed in the idea of a movie. I don't think it will go very well. I'd love to be proven wrong, I just don't think I will.
Come on guys the game is overrated
Thank you for that mental image.
Very nice choice for an emotionally touching scene! That's one of my favs
She said "I'm not her you know" and I froze like ooooooooooooooo shiiiiiiiiiiiiit.
Just replayed the last of us remastered on ps4 yesterday, awesome game. This is one game where I hope they make a sequel, But they shouldn't call it TLOU if Joel and Ellie aren't in it.
Really don't know why these little kids don't like it on here.
Loved it. Unfortunately I only could watch a playthrough since I don't have a Playstation, but hoping I can pick up the Remastered edition if I ever get a PS4.
And I'd love a sequel, I'd be really surprised if Naughty Dog doesn't make one.
"Dur, The Last of Us is overrated! I think Gone Home is better!" -Butthurt hipster
In all honestly though, one moment that was fucking powerful was Sam and Henry's death. They were easily my favorite non-playable characters in the entire game and it sucked they died the way they did. The voice acting was absolutely superb and you can actually hear Henry's voice crack and tear.

I'd even say this scene was on par easily with Lee's death scene from TWD season one.
And then the video says Sam and Henry's death XD
I personally would love to see Naughty Dog show restraint and not make a sequel, not a direct one at least. I thought the way it ended was damn near perfect, a somber tone and an ambiguous unresolved conflict that adds a since of emotional strain to Ellie and Joel's relationship. Will Ellie forgive Joel? What about Joel's lies and obsessive control over her? All this is better left in the dark as it adds to "everything can be for nothing" symbolism the game tried very hard to show us.
Well, shit. Fixed, thanks for the correction.
damn really?? cuz when you first play it you feel it. like TWDG
I think one with Tommy as the main character that takes place when he was still with Joel be good.
well i kinda saw those deaths coming, but i was emotional.
and how dare that is BLASPHEMY. NO death will probably be equal to Lee's... :,,((((((
(well to me)..
See, I knew one of them were fucked. But I grew to love them both, especially Henry. So watching him torn down and then he just... BAM. It hit hard for me.
Since this a discussion thread, might as well ask.
Joel or Ellie?
http://strawpoll.me/3929879
lol yes i knew one at least was die.... so i kinda didnt see that coming but the way he was i was scared that it was going to happened. lol i was like joel "calm down motherfucker! please!" so it did hit me.
and i kinda fucked my self because when i was hearing about the game and everything i was hearing about the ending and i was hearing "OMG I CANT BELIEVE YOUR THE BAD GUY!!:o" and all of that so i went to see the ending to see what was the deal, but without knowing i robbed myself of the moment that joel got fucking impaled at the UNI chapter.i probably wouldve shitted myslef more not knowing how it was going to happen lol
My favorite part of the game was ending it, giving the controller to my fiance to start the game and realizing there is a button to change your gun. I played the whole game. With one pistol. Fml.
I absolutely love it. One of my favourite games of all time. I pretty much like to use stealth whenever possible, to save on ammo. I tell ya, though, when you are combat, it can be pretty tense and desperate, especially if you are playing on Survivor or Grounded mode.
My favourite scene would be when Ellie kills David. So emotional and powerful.
What do you think of online gameplay?
Well, film adaptations of games almost always suck ass. The only one I can actually say didn't fully suck was Silent Hill. The sequel though. Good God...
I hope this movie does work out though.
I kind of hope Joel and Ellie aren't in it, they told there story and the got a happy(ish) ending. If they make a sequel there death is pretty likely.
I heard some rumour the second game is gonna be in europe or something, not sure if thats the case though. (Though I would be really happy if it was)
I personally feel like this game is slightly overrated, but I would have to be a complete douchebag to let that keep me from enjoying it. The shit that's good in this game is really good. The artwork is amazing, the gameplay is so solid, and the characters are just so cool.
But to be completely honest, the story is great but not as perfect as anyone (if not everyone) says. One part of the story that just doesn't make any sense to me is when Ellie finds out Joel wants to give her to Tommy. She decides she's had it with Joel's shit so she runs away. Joel and Tommy follow the tracks left behind by Ellie's horse. Along the way, they're ambushed by bandits. How the fuck did Ellie get by them without being seen? Are the bandits actually retarded or is Ellie the master of stealth...on a Goddamn 800 pound horse?
So they follow the tracks to this pretty-looking house and what do you know, Ellie's in there reading some teen-romance garbage. Here's where I start to question Ellie's logic: While I understand how angry she is at Joel for wanting to get rid of her, why would she think running away is the best course of action? Especially after the recent, unexpected attack? Say Joel and Tommy never managed to find her or worse, they get killed by the bandits. What would she do then? This makes even less sense when you remember her conversation with Sam and she tells him her biggest fear is being alone, AND when she says to Joel she'd be more scared being with someone other than him. If Joel and Tommy had not found her, she'd likely be discovered by the bandits. So either this is her way of making Joel feel guilty for simply seeing her as nothing more than a parcel, or she just wanted to be alone? Whatever the reason, it was stupid of her to just take off like that.
Eating candy in front of your peers is the best kind of candy.
Saying everybody likes it as reasoning that it's a good game is stupid. I could use that logic to say that Farmville or Candy Crush is the best game in history.
