It's great, and you'll get to pick up some of the jokes and references you missed when you played the games (or maybe get the references when you do play the games). Sam & Max's adventures are even a little wackier in printed form. Plus there are activity pages, though using them could destroy them!

It is an amazing book. I bought three copies! I just found it amusing that you said "Okay. Bought it. Any good?"

    Yes. It's good.

But I think you should read it at least twice before making any judgements for yourself. It's one of the things you read and then wonder what you just read.

Also, have you read the webcomic? It's not exactly the same as the print comics, but it's similar. The thing you need to know to understand the comic is that none of the characters other than Sam and Max have appeared before. I didn't know that the first time I read it, and I was horribly confused.

You really should link them to the beginning.. The comic isn't Japanese, so you don't read it backwards. :D

I agree. I was not overly fond of it during the original readthru but repeated usage brought favorable results.

Would it spoil it for you, if I told you that Max dies in the end?

    I absolutely loved it! :)

Here's my review of it for anobii.com:

    Purcell at his best.

    Wonderful, simply wonderful.
I was rather set back by a few of his more recent works read online, but this is Steve Purcell at his best.
Absurdist, but not simply a collection of casual random absurdities, with followable funny plots... which is exactly what you need to really appreciate the seemingly casual random absurdities thrown in here and there and everywhere! ;)
    Again, simply wonderful. Must read.

Suggestion: to be read just a few stories at a time, taking the time to appreciate details.
