Guybrush and Elaine's marriage; spoilers
I can't remember from which website, but I heard that Guybrush at one point starts to question his wife, her motivations, and if she truly loves him. That would be great for many reasons. It goes along with the theme of the game that good and evil are not so easy to distinguish, and it also makes Guybrush less of wimp by finally seeing that maby Elaine is not that good for him. Imagine they break up. Has anyone else heard about this?

Then he can get back to fighting LeChuck with renewed vigour ^_^
Hell, with his possessed hand he COULD shoot Elaine and have it make sense.
Anyway I do not mind its not really like she follows him around or anything.
You are not alone, my friend. As much as I loved Monkey Island 2, the lack of Elaine did seem kind of strange. I prefer them being married and I feel like overall it adds depth to the characters. Heck, most people even dislike Guybrush's inferiority complex in EMI when it comes to Elaine but I think it's hilarious that everyone calls him Mr. Marley and how obedient he is to Elaine even though he still introduces himself as "Guybrush Threepwood, a mighty pirate." I just find it amusing I guess. I really hope there is a lot of Elaine in Tales of Monkey Island and I think there will be.
Oh yeah... now it's coming back
and here's the quote; one of the goals for this series is to create a more suspenseful tale than we've become accustomed to. The motivations of traditionally good and evil characters will be called into question. A tantilizing prospect was suggested that there may come a point at which Guybrush is forced to question the goals of even his wife, Elaine. Mysterious!
Also, just to clarify. I was never stating that I hope they break up. I have no problem with the marriage in the games, makes for more funny jokes. I was just merely stating that this appears to be a major plot point in the game.
Really? I read that as he can't trust what she's up to etc (she has her own piratey motives) not if she loves him or not. I'm interested to see how this plays out though.
I personally like them together and don't really think it stints character development but we know Ron has had some input and he was never too happy with them ending up together in the first place...
Dun dun duuuuun!
