Well @BillWillingham has officially joined the forum, so if he lends his support and quotes Huff and Puff then we know that the creator of Fables itself is on-board for more! XD

I'm going to crap my pants if Bill Willingham joined for a reason and after Fables has been released, THEN an announcement for season two will happen! And he'll deliver it!

No disrespect guys, I'd love a S2 too but I think that the delay in development has to do with sales. Maybe you can use this as a way to encourage people to go out and buy Season 1 as well?

No it probably didn’t perform poorly, just not to the level of the other tent-pole titles. TWDS1 sales figures were released most likely released to attract new investors to the Company. That means we can assume that it would be the highest grossing game for Telltale to date.
It’s all about profit and the Company will prioritise whatever is most profitable which makes complete sense. There may also be licencing issues going on in the background that we have no idea about.
Vertigo (that publish the Fables comics, of which TWAU is a prequel too) are notorious it would seem for being difficult to deal with. Bill Willingham (creator/writer of Fables) has had a rocky relationship with them right from the start of Fables back in 2002...
I personally think that TellTale are being held back by 2 things:
1) They haven't come up with a story that can match or even exceed that of S1, plus the entire plot of the Season had to be rewritten after Ep.1 was released cuz too many plot points clashed with the main canon of Fables.
2) Vertigo only signed a 1 Season contract with TellTale, and considering that they had to do a rewrite after 1 Episode, they're probably even more hesitant to sign a new deal with them...
TWD Season 1 figures got released cuz it did so damn well compared to what TellTale thought it would initially! They haven't released figures for TWD Season 2 either, though they did hint that it's sales were pretty good compared to Season 1...
I am not going to give up hope of more TWAU until I hear it from an official TellTale source XD

So keep your fingers crossed.
I have no doubt that The Walking Dead is their highest grossing game, but that doesn't mean that just because another game didn't top it means they won't make another season. Also, just because they don't release sales figures doesn't mean it didn't sell well.
It’s all about profit
Well I like to think that Telltale is more about the storytelling abilities of a franchise than the cash, especially since they advertise "Where Story is the Gameplay."
I think the biggest thing is -
licencing issues going on
Bingo IMO. Telltale signed "multi-title, multi year" deals with Skybound and HBO for Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, which basically means multiple seasons. Wolf Among Us (like Tales and Story Mode), only got signed on for one title, which means one season.
It doesn't mean there definitely won't be one, it just means there is a very high chance of there not being one.

Season 1 had a budget of 200,000 and sold over 24 million copies
Imagine tlou budget and that sold over a million
To think your going to make that amount of profit on every game is just selfish twau deserves a sequel everyone asked for it
Who asked for a minecraft game? NO ONE it was telltale getting to money hungry looking at a brands size of a fanbase over the potential of making a great game
I think it would be a shame to dismiss this game it has the potential to be the best and make the most money out of any telltale game

Season 2, pretty please?

The sales figures haven't been released, and TWAU was a top-seller on sites like Steam anyways...

Thanks armis, good to see my precious TWAU crew together again. Though, I'm not entirely back yet, as you see, I just come over whenever I have time.
Hey there! I don't remember talking to you before, but, either way, I appreciate your kindness man.
