  • I just watched the Babadook the other day and lemme tell you it blew me away. One of the best horror films that I've ever seen.

I always recommend Natural Born Killers to people who want something darkly comedic while remaining cerebral and is trippy as fuck. Ingenious in my opinion.

  • I've seen a lot of fucked up shit in movies, but for some reason I can't really get myself to watch this one. I mean, I know what happens, but something is preventing me from watching it. :(

As some other users know, I could go on and on about this The question is if I should start...

  • It's not as bad as you might think. It's violent, sure. But the way it's written is that is subjugates a lot of the violence with a thick layer of humor in front of it. I enjoyed it, although the subject matter is what splits people down the middle. All the rape, violence, and then that interview scene disturbed a lot of people.

  • Hmmmm Where would I start? XD

  • Maybe you could make it similar to my yearly movie threads?

  • Check out The Raid: Redemption and its sequel.

  • Hell yea! The Raid 2 took what made the first great, and expanded on it even more!

  • Rear Window. Ain't as flashy as something more modern, but it's a classic.

I'd also recommend checking out this poster's artist.

  • But of course! J.K. Simmons is magnificent in this. Shame on me, for only recognising him as the father of this snotty little cross striped brat called Juno.

You have a refined taste, Mr. Lizard (also visible on your profile pic, if it's from Persepolis?).

    Whiplash anyone?

  • Thank you!

And you are correct. I love Persepolis to death! It's my second favorite movie of all time. Glad to know someone else that knows of that movie. :)

  • Netflix is making a TV show of the book series.

    A Series of Unfortunate Events.

  • I love Sin City, Fightclub, Suckerpunch, The Silver-linings Playbook, Pulp Fiction, Easy A, Friends With Benefits... there's way more but that's all I could think of right now. I love a lot of sci-fi, psychological type things but also action and comedy.

  • The only movie you need

  • Well, It's pretty well-known in France, so if anything I'm glad to hear it's known and loved someplace else too (I'm boldly assuming you're not french).

  • Oh yea that's right, I forgot Persepolis was a french movie. Yea, I'm not French. I found out about the movie on Watchmojo's Top 10 Animations for adults. Persepolis got an honorable mention, and after that scene where Marjane calls the nuns prostitutes got me hooked into it lol. Little did I know how enticing the story of the movie really is.

I also have the comic book, and god damn there are a lot of scenes missing from the comic book. I also love the fluidity of the animation and how they stuck true to the comic book.
