Movies that you were hoping would be good, but were terrible.
My top picks are:
NOAH - Being a religious man, I was honestly looking forward to seeing it, and was hoping that it would follow the story from the Bible. Instead, instead of being a religious film, the director turned into an animal rights film. And given how how Noah was portrayed as a antisocial lunatic, I was so offended that I nearly walked out of the theater. After the film was done, I felt like I had wasted nearly 3 hrs of my time. Makes me wish I would've walked out.
True Grit 2011 - Having been a fan of the 1969 film starring the ledgendary John Wayne, I was really looking forward to this film. It was long and drawn out, one of the most boring films ever. The problem wasn't Jeff Bridges or Matt Damon, they're both wonderful actors. The problem was the script, and in many ways actors are only as good as the script they're given, as they have to work within the parameters of the script. And if the script is terrible, it doesn't matter how good the actor is, the film is going to be horrible.
The Dilemma: starring Vince Vaughn and Kevin James - After having seen the trailer for the film I thought it was gonna be funny. Instead I found it boring. Honestly, I can't remember one funny thing about it.

The Lost World: Jurassic Park.
InGen......I'm shocked........
I hate that movie so much.
At least it lowered my expectations and I kind of like Jurassic Park 3.
I wouldn't say this movie is terrible, but it did let me down. Scorsese's, Mean Streets, isn't one of his best works in my opinion. Robert and Keitel deliver good performances yes, but I didn't think the entire movie was structured properly. There were a few rather odd scenes that felt irrelevant to the topic of the movie. The editing is pretty choppy too. But, Scorsese was new at that time so I guess I could forgive that. I was also pretty bored while watching it, so that kind of explains why I disliked the movie.
Mean Streets
Another would be Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. I really liked the first Sin City because of its style. The whole movie is style over substance, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing here. The story archs were pretty interesting for the most part. But I wasn't too thrilled about Brolin's story, which is the main plot point of the film. One of the characters' story, though I liked, felt pointless because of what happens in the end.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For
It is far less superior to the original and same goes to the third and In general I enjoy the sequels despite what others say.
I feel like TLW is a better example of storytelling in a way and JP3 is a better example of entertainment so basically the sequels are like DC vs Marvel.
The second one did drag a lot in places, and the effects in the third sucked compared to the first two, I'm not a huge expert on how effects work and stuff but still. There are also a few minor plotholes between the sequels but nothing too big. I guess the sequels are guilty pleasures for me.
And I guess I should think of a movie that I found disappointing.....
The Hobbit trilogy. I thought the original Lord of the Rings movies were really good, but these ones just were flops to me. The only somewhat good one was the first one, the second one was meh, and the third one was really poor. IMO of course
I loved the third's Smaug sequence, and the second one's Smaug scenes as well.
Otherwise poor.
Oblivion. That movie really didn't make much sense to me, I thought it was just stupid.
That was my favorite film of the entire trilogy!
The Mist. I thought the characters were just cardboard cutouts. Which wouldn't bother me as much if it wasn't meant to be a character driven movie. It's really hard to get invested in what they're going through when you couldn't give a rat's ass about any of them.
Another one would be You're Next. Could've worked if it was meant to be a satire, but it just came off as dull and boring to me.
I couldn't even bring myself to watch the third movie, and this is coming from someone who thought the Lord of the Rings movies were absolutely brilliant. I watched a couple of random scenes on Youtube... and they were pretty horrific.
What happened to this??:

Spider-Man 3. Nuff said.
Agreed. The third one was really bad, so many superfluous scenes. Ugh.
Jurassic Park III.
Besides Sam Neill and Laura Dern, the movie has flaws everywhere. Also, the first time I saw it, I was quite offended when I saw my favorite dinosaur getring killed by a Spinosaurus.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2. I liked the first movie a lot, but I found its sequel quite lacking.
Yes. I hate ASM 2 too. It wasn't just good and bad. It was all bad.
First movie was very decent. I didn't really like the idea of rebooting tho.
Yeah, it felt even worse considering the fact that the first movie was actually quite good.
Yeah, I wasn't a fan of the idea too. The first trilogy was largely fine (except for some things in the third movie cough emo Peter cough), but the first reboot movie was good.
I'm now wondering if they're still doing them.
Well, here I go...
I LOVE Marvel films, but this one... It wasn't terrible but I didn't really enjoy it either and I can't give the main reason why. It's more like little things packing up. I'd give a 2.5/5
I loved the original trilogy. The fact that the director was a Spider-Man fan helped it. But they are going to reboot the franchise again. Gonna be like Batman franchise.
I just hope it won't be Ben Affleck playing Spider-Man, lol.
Batfleck Begins
More like "Bad Flick Begins", lol.
Mean Streets is a lot more of an art film from New Hollywood - in general his early works were a lot more symbolic, and the cinematic techniques were borrowed from the French New Wave. Mean Streets is way different from Goodfellas or Casino.
Party because of my thesis, but I was watching a lot of 1970's vigilante films, like Death Wish, Dirty Harry, and Walking Tall, and I liked all of them. Billy Jack was supposed to be a good movie in the same line, but I just thought it was relatively boring overall, and the whole Native American aspect actually came off a little racist, even though it's meant to be anti-racist.
Heh, I was expecting Mean Streets to be somewhat like GoodFellas, so I guess that's why I didn't like it that much. Another thing I forgot to mention was that the ending didn't really do it for me. It felt really abrupt. Maybe the movie deserves another viewing in order for me to understand it.
I didn't like either of them.
For me, Toby McGuire will always be Spiderman.
Toby owned that role, in my opinion.
And now I hear they're remaking the Fantastic Four, and that pisses me off.
I loved the original two films with the original cast.
This new Fantastic Four looks like shit, in my opinion.
Mainly cause the characters are basically college kids, instead of full-fledged adults.
I loved this film.
Avengers- Age of Ultron was a damn good film.
Every bit as good as the first Avengers' film.
Man of Steel.
I just want Superman to finally get a movie that does him justice, makes him cool, and does not involve unrealistically jobbing to Batman.
I haven't got any really, but I'm assuming that the FNAF movie is going to be utter shit.
I had very high hopes for Prometheus since the trailer was expertly done. What I got was a very beautiful slasher film full of the dumbest scientists either fictional or real, and an ending that resolved nothing in the patented Damon Lindelof way.
Another film I REALLY wanted to like was Push. I am a sucker for stories about psychokinetic powers and am a big Chris Evans fan, but man does this movie not live up to it's potential. I wanting something in between Akira and Galerians, and what I got was a direct-to-video snorefest that's light on the action and powers.
This pile of excrement.
I first watched this two years ago. I had heard of the negativity surrounding this film, but having played Blood Money and Absolution, I decided to at least attempt to watch it. I was shocked that this was an adaptation of Hitman. They just slapped a bald man with a tattoo and a pair of guns in a poor movie.
I just hope that the upcoming reboot is a half-decent film.
Thor 2
So boring with a poor script just chessy one-liners even the action was poor and tame to me just a bad film
Amazing Spiderman 2
The ending was great my feels pity about the rest it was so cliché and boring
May Payne.
I really loved the games and i was excited when i heard they where going to make a movie but i found it really disappointing.
Iron Man 3, I really thought it was going to be good, especially since it had the Mandarin in it, but when they revealed him to be nothing but an actor, it left a bad taste in my mouth, incredibly disappointing. The honest trailer for this movie sums it up perfectly.

Holy shit! My dad loves that film, I've only seen it in pieces, but I thought it was lacking in terms of characterization. Either everyone seems to be unflinchingly evil douchebags or victims that need rescuing and by principle, I hate when a film that is suppose to be cerebral comes off too strong and overshoots the message.
Remember when the nearly three hour long film had Godzilla in it for just under fifteen minutes? Ah, good times... wait a second! I mean, what a shit pile, and honestly I'd even prefer the 1998 shit fest over this one. At least I could point and laugh at how bad Matthew Broderick did and how the "redesign" looked more like an iguana than a terrifying monster of destruction.
I thought of another movie, and it's American Hustle
All I can say about this movie is that it was underwhelming. From all the rave reviews about it, I expected an awesome film delving into politics and crime. I even heard it was funny at points. The film presented those elements to me, but I didn't like the way they were handled. People were also saying that the ending was cool, but I was disappointed with that too. It just left me with a "meh" feeling. I wasn't thinking HOLY SHIT MOTHER OF GOD DIDNT SEE THAT COMING when I saw it.
