Sorry for the weird title . have you heard of the Franklin Effect ,It is a proposed psychological phenonmenon where a person who has done a favour for.someone is more likely to do another favour for someone than they would if they received a favour from them . This is probably because this tricks that person into liking that other person , because why would they be doing them a favour if they didn't
do you know of any other phsycological phenomena?
For example people are more likely to be attracted to someone who didn't like them at first and then proceeded to like them , rather than someone who liked them all along.

Those are interesting, why is it called Franklin? (Probably Benjamin Franklin, but I don't know much about him)
EDIT: nevermind, found it on Google :P
I know the BF effect works because I use it everyday. The true way to become well liked in high school.
I've read about this in one of the two books from the "You Are Not So Smart" series. It's a pretty interesting book series that describes how we use logical fallacies, self delusions, faulty perceptions, etc. It's more casual reading and definitely not high end or anything, but it's still a good read.

They also have a blog where they loosely summarize what they discuss in the books.
Back on the topic of the Benjamin Franklin effect, I think it sounds interesting and plausible but I've never had a chance to deliberately apply it so I wouldn't know too much about it from first hand experience.
