monkey island special edition wii release

edited February 2010 in General Chat
hey, i'm super happy that monkey island 5 will be coming out on the wii and although i'm not too worried whether monkey island se will be coming out on the wii i'd still would support if it did come out for it.

What do you think are the chances of it coming out on the wii someday?

Since Money Island SE is going to be out on XBLA I doubt it'll be on the Wii. You never know though, us Wii owners may get lucky.

I can't see how it's got any less of a chance coming out on WiiWare due to being on XBLA as it's not been developed by Microsoft or a company they own. Besides, the 'hint' is that it and/or other classic Lucasarts titles will appear on the iTunes App Store. The biggest issue I would imagine is file size, as all the audio and new graphics may push it beyond the current 43mb limit of WiiWare.

Not to look down on Wii owners but... who's got ONLY the Wii? Chances are most people (including myself) have a Wii and another of this gen consoles, a 360 in my case which I bought 2nd hand for a very low price.

That 40 MB cap really hurts a Wiiware release - the music and voice over alone is probably way over that.

I haven't, i'm a unemployed art student. I recently bought a wii second hand for dirt cheap (believe me i was better off getting it new considering how many problems i had with it second-hand.)

I can't afford a x-box 360 even if it was dirt cheap, plus i dont want to own more than one console considering that it would be more tempting to blow even more money on games that are exclusive to the console.

I only got the WII. I used the own a X360 but i got rid of it. It was failure for me. Don't get me wrong it has great games, but the games i love on it are done better on PC ( Bioshock, LEft 4 Dead ). In fact, the only game i miss sometimes is Dead Rising.

I'm perfectly happy with my WII. True, it has many terrible games, but if i get one truly high quality game a year for my WII then it's all good.

As for WIIWARE, i pick up a game here and there, but i never expect anything epic to come out of it. And i think MI is too big for it. Lots of speech:/

I also only have a Wii at the moment. In all honesty, I refuse to buy a console that is guaranteed to break inside of a year such as Microsoft has released and as tempted as I am by the PS3 upon occasion, it's still too expensive for me.

Although last year there were few quality games released, this year has seen great improvement and looks to get even better. I've had the pleasure of playing more point and click's since it's release than I have in a long time and it's fantastic to be able to play games such as Broken Sword on a console that does them justice. Not to mention plenty of other entertaining titles such as House of the Dead: Overkill, Disaster: Day of Crisis and Trauma Centre: New Blood.

The Wii isn't a barren wasteland when it comes to great games, it's just people refuse to buy them. Sad, but true.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Wii and I'm well aware of the incredible games it has and will have. It's just there's so many "traditional" games being developed for the other consoles that I couldn't just resist not buying a 360 (which I've had for more than 2 years now without a single problem, lucky me I guess) dirt cheap as well. Really looking forward to Muramasa, RE Darkside Chronicles, Metroid Other M, etc.

T=Guys, think about this, we get tales of monkey island for the wii and they get monkey island special edition for the 360. PLus, arent BOTH tales of monkey and the special edition for PC.

I own a Windows laptop and a Wii; my laptop sucks for games so the Wii is it. I simply have no interest in owning another console, as I like the Wii controls so much better. I'm certainly not alone. If TellTale could release a full Wii disc version [limited?] of SoMI:SE that would be very well received!

I don't have a Wii anymore because I moved to the other half of the world and couldn't take it with me. But I didn't have any other console of the same gen. I have a PS2 though, which is Canadian so I still have it now.

I only have a Wii, and have done for a couple of years. I keep meaning to get an X-Box 360, but I can never quite find the money for it.There's a new PC to pay off, then dental work, and holiday spending money... Bah.

You just described my case exactly.

Special edition won't happen for wii. One of it's main selling points was it's HD visuals. However, i would like to see the original released (it could be released via VC, as a Sega CD title) or the original (with voices) via wiiware.
