Lol at Bill Murray, probably would have been better if you used a screen from the film or something or of like Lost in Translation or something, just so it's more obvious. I mean at first I just thought it was completely random until I remembered Bill Murray is in the Ghosbuster films. Nice pun :P

Hehe glad I got it trough at least :P I wondered whether I should have taken a pic from the movie or the game but figured I could get him in more artistically on the box art :)

A buddy and I where going to start a web comic a couple of years ago.. It was going great we had tons of story ideas.... I was supposed to draw it and color it... even though he was the respectable Art student who had seen his own gallery shows... but anyway..... We had this epic disagreement (peaceful mind you because we are both pretty mellow) but we couldn't agree on if the characters should have 4 or 5 fingers... I wanted 5, he wanted 4... we didn't come to an agreement so we never finished any comics.. But seriously if we had we would be famous now... just kidding.

Were you kidding about the whole story? Because it was a bit pointless if you were

    Should have 7 fingers anyway!

    This is a great thread.

    I know, it's just a cool thread. I thought I'd contribute.

I took your Guybrush and stuck him into the concept art, scaled to CMI's resolution, and added in the verb coin and text

I want to buy that game

Knowing that they would just flip the sprite to save drawing time, I reckon they would have had the pox of LeChuck on his other hand so it is clearer that he has a problem (and I reckon it should look a bit more vile than just plain green).

Also, the verb icon is slightly off position XD sorry... I'm a bit of a perfectionist

And yes I know I'm talking to two different people here...

I know, but I didn't like the way it looked way on the edge of the screen, heh.

I'm not entirely sure who this hypothetical "they" is, but Guybrush's sprite isn't just flipped in CMI. He had a separate walking animation for both directions.

 I wish that could be included in the comp because it is the best thing going.

Despite being neither of the aforementioned people, I thought I'd try and address the lack of vileness in the pox hand:

Contest may be over... but here is something to look at while we wait for the results.

Manny the Mighty Grim Pirate.... I think he and Murray would have hit it off.

It's a crying shame that I've yet to play the Grim Fandango. I've heard such great things about it! Is it for sale online anywhere that I could possibly pick it up for cheap, or will I have to wait and see if LucasArts puts it up on Steam/D2D, etc?

Also, that's a fantastic photo edit Irishmile! Looks like it could have been a real bonus/easter egg for the game! Keep up the great work! :D

This leads to the question, what would happen with his hand later on? Good job nevertheless :)

Im sure you could find it somewhere, where do you live? I just checked some stores here in sweden, and apparently, one is getting a few copies delivered to them @ 21/07. Which is rather soon, so there seems to be new copies to get still.

Not sure if this belongs in photo manip or fan art, but this is an image that has been stuck in my head since playing CoMI for the first time. I'd been playing with it but never go tit just right, so this is a work in progress.

Well, just being dead doesn't necessarily make you immune to evil voodoo curses.

I suppose thats true, but he is a Grim Reaper... So you would think that would give him a little bit of power over such things.

Well I think everyone is too busy playing MI:SE... TTG staff included.
  • edited July 2009
Yeah, strange thing is I haven't even beaten it yet, I got up early yesterday morning and downloaded it in my Xbox, but then a combination of work and NCAA Football 2010 have kept me from completing it. Not like I haven't beaten the original many times. :p
  • edited July 2009
I have been playing it off and on... but to be honest.... I get all comfy in my chair and end up getting sleepy because I have played it so many times before... its the same thing when I watch star wars it puts me to sleep.

My son (age 6) keeps nudging me awake because he likes watching it being played.... He likes the old version better BTW.... says alot for a game nearly 20 years old. But he has been able to read past his age level for some time now.... other kids would probably pick the talkie.

I showed my nephew (Age 7) Tales Of Monkey Island. He loved it so much. He needed my help nearly all the time. He navigated the forest on his own though. He's coming round tomorrow to play it some more. I will show him the SOMI:SE as well to see what he thinks.

I beat SOMI:SE twice since I got it. First time took me four hours over a couple of days but it's the first time I ever completed it. I never beat the original as I was young and just wanted to try the second one. I beat the second one but I don't remember it at all. Infact I remembered every detail of SOMI. I do want to see some old Lucas games re imagined but can the PLEASE do Monkey Island first! I want them to do all 4.

    SOMI = Great
LCR = Give it the SOMI:SE style and the ability to cut to old
COMI = I would like them to use the new SE style but you can cut back to the original like on SOMI:SE.
EMI = Should have the 3D version and you can cut to SE style.

Good to hear (I was really getting worried).
pilouuuu, I think at some point we have to do a "let's port MI2 over to fullhd" competition. So far the results are lightyears ahead of what LA was capable with MI1.

But if you are busy programming a program, shouldn't they be busy webbing the web? Slackers.
