Sam and Max: Hit The Road only playing the soundtrack when played

Whenever I put Hit The Road in my disk drive, it only starts playing some of the soundtrack, as if it were just an audio cd. I tried using SCUMMVM but I can't get to the files because they only play the sound. Does anyone know what's going on? Is it my computer, cause I thought I bought the PC version, but the disc says IBM CD-ROM, and I don't know what that means. Is there a solution?

    First of all, are you using a PC? The "IBM CD-ROM" is an indication that this CD was intended for IBM or compatible PCs. There were multiple releases, and different IBM/Mac versions, but if you copy the right files to your hard drive, you should be able to play them using SCUMMVM no matter which version and computer you have.

    If you stop the music player and select the CD in your file explorer program, do you see anything other than audio tracks?
