so what do you guys think of this game idea?
This game would be called: legend of the teller
The game's premise is about a currently unnamed protagonist who embarks on a quest to find the teller, a mysterious individual who knows the answer to any question you could possibly ask. The question: who are you? The reason the player goes on the journey is because all throughout his life he was forced to take on many different personas as his parents were cons and wronged many people. He was taught at a very young age to fabricate personalities so he never gave much thought to his own. After being able to escape his life at age 13 he embarks on this journey. In this journey many tense situations occur and many harsh individuals are met. Upon reaching your destination you realize that the teller doesn't exist and the area you were supposed to go to also does not exist. Interpretation is key at this point.
The game's details haven't been worked out yet
Genre: first person "shooter"
(I can't make games but maybe someone who can will see this.)
Comments
Not enough to sell me quite yet. I don't know why I want to take the journey.
Making edits now
Pretty interesting idea. I'd play it.
Does it have to be in the FPS genre? I don't think the story is suitable for an FPS. Maybe for an RPG?
I agree, by first person shooter I meant that it will be in first person but the shooter is just referencing various small arms (such as pistols) and other melee wepons
A Super Mario RPG kind of thing would be awesome! Good job!
I'm not a developer, but I've read enough of them talking about unsolicited game ideas to know that they never go near them. They're the type of people who are bursting with more ideas than they have time to make.
Anyways, I'm not trying to discourage you. The opposite, in fact. I would say if you have a great idea, make it yourself. There are plenty of free engines out there, and a ton of tutorials to get you started. Or keep making game ideas, put them in a box, and when you get to a point in your life where you've got the skills and the motivation, go make them.
Even if you can't develop games, there's no reason you couldn't turn this into a story. It would at least help you determine if it's a plot that you or somebody else could work with.
You should do some thinking about 'setting'. What kind of world does the plot take place in? The real world? The future? A fantasy universe?
that's a plot idea, not a game idea
Making this a game is a big project. Making a story is a different case.
I can help a bit, if you like?
for now I might just make stories (written) about the game and I would be happy to collaborate with you.
Are you making a manuscript or a book of some sort?
Probably some sort of book/ short story esc Type thing
Interesting. Make sure to tell me when you're done.
I have a game idea too: You're a dude and you kill stuff.
That's sexist. Why not a girl?
(I'm joking in case people think this is somehow serious)
9.87/10. --IGN
Hatred?
If forget to write this in but a girl could also be chosen.
I was joking M8.
My name is not important...
Don't take his idea for granite!
Well I have a game idea for a female character too:
You're a hot girl with an open shirt and you cook in the kitchen.
(I'm joking too)
Metacritic 103.
Nah, in my game you kill more stuff and the main dude is more dudier (?) than Hatred's.
10s all around the board.
Boss battle! The cookies are burning!
