It isn't cheap, especially when it's comedy that possibly has to be rewritten for different cultures?
Come come, the guy's just asking.
The other MI games were in a variety of languages...a bit later after their release. Maybe eventually, but I don't see it happening soon.
im sure they'll fix, its simply a market standard to provide at least subs for other languages.
hope to make it soon.
besos
I do not mean to be too snarky, but seriously.... I know its frustrating having to wait for translations but there are a TON of threads asking for translations... you can not expect TTG to translate it in every language imaginable like its the bible or something... I doubt all Italian media is translated in English right away. TTG is not Electronic Arts or some big publisher... they are a smaller group of game makers, who do not have the same resources that the big guys have.
Ciao
Well, even though the Lucasarts logo is in the credits of this game, I consider it fully a Telltale game. The previous MI games were made under the Great Lucas Empire, and could totally do stuff like that. Telltale? Kind of a different situation.
i think germany, france and spain would be the first...but not italy...dude... ^^
so ? what do italian players have less than other european ones ?
This is strange, the "numbers" of my italian credit card were right for the pre-order
Anyway, it's not a problem for me the lack of italian subs, and i understand that the italian market is not so inviting to force ThellTale Games in providing them.
But if you talk of piracy, let me make some laughs thinking that Spain, France and Germany, the so called big countries, are immune .
I'm still waiting for S&M season 2 to come out boxed with italian subtitles (ONLY subtitles) ... so c'mon .... 1000+ users online yesterday on the forum and much more people waiting for the release of the new monkey island and NO subtitles in multi5 ??
Telltale, you are GREAT ... but NOW with this piratey-franchise you can do EVEN BETTER do a multi-5 subtitle translation !!
Having Finnish subtitles in the games would be useful to introduce these games to a few friends of mine.
that's the fact !! and Wallace & Gromit have it though ...
PS/ My mother language is Spanish and I'm not crying for SPA subs.
Official TOMI localization thread - Read news but don't ask!
WILL be available upon completion of the entire season = 1 year AFTER that ? Like S&M boxed versions ? I think TTG can do better this time with a much anticipated and awaited follow-up !!!
Ok, I try not to be impolite with you, even if I should be...I'm Italian, what's your problem with us..? Do you think we don't play MONKEY ISLAND as you do? Go and visit the most important italian MONKEY ISLAND fun forum and tell me if we are not numerous enough to be considered for an Italian translation...
So I'm sure that at the end of the TOMI Season subtitles will be localized.
For the speech I think that will be "English only".
Well, the English voices of TOMI are really cool, but some Italian voices of CMI were fantastic (Guybrush, the Voodoo Lady, LeChuck...)...Playing a game and reading the "Italian" subtitles in the lower part of the screen doesn't let u watch the scenes carefully..
And why in 1997 a game was fully translated (CMI) and in 2009 they don't do it???
TOMI is edit by Telltale (only a collaboration for Lucasarts) in only 3-4 months (episode 1) and at lower price, so they don't have fund for translate the speech in 3-4 other language.
