Monkey Island "Internal Error" Load issue

Hi guys,

I have read through other posts but it seems like I'm having the worst luck so far.. I launch the exe and this is all I get..

I have tried the prefs file from the other post, I have tried lowering screen resolution, I have tried running in 640x480 and lowering colours - seems like the error lies elsewhere, but difficult to tell with no explaination.

I am running Windows XP SP3, quadcore, 4gb ram., Nvidia 512 9800GT




Any help would be greatly appreciated...

    Are you running the latest version of IE? Do you have any javascript blockers running?

    i have about the same pc and the same problem
    i don't have ie installed but firefox up to date and use commodo as a firewall, but have permited all connections from the .exe file.
    java is up to date and out of firewall block,too

    may there be some other files that need an exeption, too ??

    some help would be awesome
    looking forward to finally play MI again!!

    The launcher requires the Internet Explorer, at best in the latest version.
